Sapphire 7870
Pros: Was real simple to install. Did not use the drivers from the CD packaged with the card. I went the AMD site and downloaded the latest and greatest and everything worked well. In comparison to my Sapphire 4870 1gig card, the picture was pretty much the same. The big difference was in the frame rates. With everything on max, it increased the frames by 30 over the 4870.
Cons: This card is long so you better have a nice tower case to fit it in. I have the Antec 1200 so no worries there. I think the card measures 11 inches long.
Overall Review: So far so good. This is my second Sapphire card and haven't been displeased.
On second board.
Pros: Nice looks, RGB lights A lot of fan headers and two RGB headers M.2 support
Cons: First board would not post, RMA'd it and got second board. It posted and I was able to update to the latest BIOS with no problems. I bought the G. Skill Trident Z RGB 3200mhz where G. Skill said it would work but Windows 10 would run for 30 minutes and everything would freeze. Had to power down to get it running again. Had the Q code of 24. I called Asus and they said you have to get memory on the QVL list to have a system that is stable. Returned my Trident's and got the Ripjaws 3200mhz. These are on the QVL and hoping this is the fix. I will update once memory comes in.
Overall Review: I like the aesthetics and the board is made good. I'm hoping the second board once I get the qualified memory works and I'll just have to say the first one was bad luck. I've always purchased Asus products and never had any issues with them, even after 9 years my old pc is beating strong. Asus support was excellent to work with.
Nice air cooler, not too big or small
Pros: Keeps my AMD 1700x cool Fans are quiet at regular speed RGB works good with Asus Aura
Cons: Fans get loud at full speed If you have tall RAM and use all four slots, the first will not fit. Lucky for me, I'm using only two.
Overall Review: I would recommend this for keeping your CPU cool. I rather stay on the safe side to have this last a good while without pump going bad or a leak. The RGB makes it look awesome.
Huge monitor and nice to have one instead of two
Pros: 2k resolution if nice to have for viewing and nice to have for FPS for the games No dead pixels Love the adjustable stand
Cons: Bleeding on the corners when all black screen, welcome to IPS
Overall Review: This monitor was the best deal I could get for a 34" curved screen. I got it on sale for 449. Well worth it for that price. Love 21:9 wide screen!!
Everyone has their opinion with this case.
Pros: This case was easy to build in. Fits different sizes of mobo's. Love the 200mm fans in front. Adjustable shrouds. A lot of room for storage, two 3.5" drives on bottom, two 2.5" drive in front or behind mobo, depending if you use the vertical mount for video card. Plenty of options to make this case an RGB light show. The looks are awesome.
Cons: True, the top and front are cheap plastic, but the one thing I seen in all the YouTube videos, they kept them on during the builds. In all of my builds, I strip the case down to the chassis so I don't scratch or damage it. Don't understand why they kept theirs on. Once all together, it sits there on the desk and takes names. Even when I had to take it apart to replace parts, I liked the fast removal of the top and front.
Overall Review: I like the case as is. I think if they make the plastic metal, it would add too much weight to it. I would recommend it!
Gread Product!
Pros: Easy setup! It is great for tall people, I'm 6'2" and fits my needs.
Cons: None, working great for the last month.
Overall Review: I would recommend this product!
