Decent Cheap Card

SYBA SY-VIA-150 PCI SATA / IDE Combo Controller Card, Non Raid
SYBA SY-VIA-150 PCI SATA / IDE Combo Controller Card, Non Raid

Pros: Cheap. Haven't really tested the performance, but for the price, i'm not expecting a monster. Comes with all the drivers from Win98 to vista (Win7 natively supported)

Cons: Remember that you can't boot off this device unless your MB supports it and the drivers come on a CD which have to be put on a floppy if you expect WinXP to be able to use them during install.

Overall Review: I was taking an older machine and updating it to use the card to support the new cheap drives. For me, it was just easier to get the machine running Win7.

If it doesn't come free...

Bytecc PM-40 Projector Ceiling Mount
Bytecc PM-40 Projector Ceiling Mount

Pros: Probably fine for a TV, not so good for a ceiling mounted projector.

Cons: doesn't come with any screws for any projector. vertical axis has just 4 holes for the bolts to line up in (i.e. not variable) at 0, 30, 60 and 90. This would otherwise be fine except for projectors typically weigh *something* and as such pull down on the holder arms just enough to make lining it all up a test of "how much am i willing to deal with it being a few deg off crooked vs how much can i bend it without breaking things" NO HORIZONTAL ADJUSTMENT System has a vertical adjustment of increments of 30 degrees, and variable axial adjustment, but no horizontal adjustment options (probably no big deal as a TV mount) All in all, it should not be advertised as a projector ceiling mount with its limitations. If you buy a projector, just eat the 40$ and buy a mount made specifically to work with your projector instead of this poor alternative.

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE

PYLE 5.8" TFT Monitor w/Headrest Frame Shroud & Universal Stand
PYLE 5.8" TFT Monitor w/Headrest Frame Shroud & Universal Stand

Pros: Cheap. And I always do get a kick out of the Engrish instruction manuals. "The connecting-point of direct current should connect on the Main line of storage battery as possible as it can" HA!

Cons: I just got this thing in the mail 3 days ago, out of the box it had problems with the screen (weird bubble-like structures embedded in the screen) i would have returned it right then and there, except I had already installed it and didn't want to go through the trouble of tearing it out to wait a week. Now, it's up and running and i've gotten used to the bubbles in the screen, and these white-line artifacts come across the screen. i thought maybe it was signal but it does it even with the signal cable disconnected. 2 major defects in one product? Imagine my luck! If I could find other manufacturers of screens this size, you could bet that i'd give them a shot.

So far so good

Western Digital Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Excellent drive for the price. seems pretty solid and i've not had any problems yet.

Cons: Can't find any. I suppose everything can always be cheaper ;-)
