Most Favorable Review

Impressive, for the most part

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card ZT-50401-10L
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card ZT-50401-10L

Pros: Fairly small footprint, single 6-pin power supply, great looks, full control over clocks and core voltage with Afterburner, offers display flexibility

Cons: Fan is noisy, runs a little hot, included programs are useless to anyone with any tech experience, Zotac overclocking program lacks features

Overall Review: I've only had it for a short period of time, but ever since I installed it, the fan seems to have a rattle or a click like a cable is just barely touching the fan. It comes and goes and is really only noticeable with fan speeds around 50% or more. It runs fairly hot in my opinion, around 70C full tilt with about a 60-65% fan profile (which gets annoying). Fan is pretty small and gets to be pretty loud so if you aren't using headphones or playing with your speakers turned up, the whir will interrupt your gaming from time to time. I saw a huge increase in frame rate with the current drivers that Nvidia has released (296.10) on all of my games and most notably with ME3. Great card overall, it looks great and is pretty powerful, but I'm taking off an egg for the sake of the fan issue. I'm sending in the rebate and i'll update this about how that goes as well.

Not the best card for the price

ZOTAC AMP! GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card ZT-50402-10L
ZOTAC AMP! GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card ZT-50402-10L

Pros: Small, single 6-pin power, good looking

Cons: This thing runs really hot! I can get this thing into the 70s with the fan maxed out! The fan is also louder than all of the other fans in my case even at idle on 30% fan!

Overall Review: I put everything back at the factory defaults (including the core voltage) minus the memory and got much better temps out of it with very little loss in performance. The highest I have seen it get during games is the high 60's with about 50% fan with factory speed. It's not a bad card by any means, but there are much cooler and powerful options out there for not much more than this. I wish I waited a little longer and bought a 560 instead.

Wonderful Aesthetics, Great Build Quality, Samsung B-Die

G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C14D-16GTZKW

Pros: Aluminum heat sink No RGB High clock frequency and tight timings

Overall Review: Simply cannot go wrong with this kit! If you want RGB, look elsewhere, but the white on black aesthetic looks banging in my setup! Even when overclocked to 3733MT/s with tight 14-13-11-29 timings and high 1.55V, these stay under 40C; a testament to the high efficiency of Samsung B-Die ICs and efficacy of the heat sinks! Highly recommend!

ASRock H61M-VS LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASRock H61M-VS LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Very small in size, supports 16gb RAM, UEFI, socket 775 coolers fit

Cons: No IDE headers, single x16 and x1 PCI slots, fan options are terrible, still has a LPT1 header for printers

Overall Review: The day I got this thing, I noticed there were no IDE headers for my multiple disk drives. That's not so bad and it's something that I should have looked for when shopping around, but never thought of it. It still has a printer header but not IDE, that seems completely illogical to me. There are 3 fan headers on the board. One 4-pin for the CPU, one 3-pin for a "power fan", and another 4-pin for the "channel 1 fan". The CPU header is in a great, easy to access place. The "power fan" header is right against the backside of any GPU you have and the CPU. And as for the "channel 1 fan", if you have a lot of SATA drives, the cables will run right over the top of the header. In my small case, it's a joke. On the upside, my old 92mm socket 775 cooler fits with no problems at all and the boot menu is greatly useful thanks to UEFI. Overall, this board is a decent budget board, but its not a good choice if you have older components or lots of cables to hook up. -1 egg for fan headers.

Budget Power!

Pros: Cheap, powerful

Cons: None!

Overall Review: I bought this for a budget build and when I ran the system for the first time, I was absolutely blown away. The speed and agility this processor has for the price is fantastic and I can recommend this for any budget build! Not only does this chip run cool all the time, but it packs a punch! Along with a good GPU, I can play ME3 at max settings with no problems whatsoever. Five eggs all the way!

Overall Review: This stuff was cheap and it looks and performs astoundingly. Great buy for any budget computer!
