Very Good Little Printer

Samsung ML Series ML-2525W Workgroup Up to 24 ppm Monochrome Ethernet (RJ-45) / USB / Wi-Fi Laser Printer
Samsung ML Series ML-2525W Workgroup Up to 24 ppm Monochrome Ethernet (RJ-45) / USB / Wi-Fi Laser Printer

Pros: Prints very clear, crisp and professional looking. This was set up in a small law office, and so far it's done very well with printing good looking documents. This was purchased because a Canon AIO Laser was smudging and flaking off fine Cotton Paper. This one flakes a little, but far less than the Canon, and a little more than a very old HP. The wireless feature is nice when it works, see cons

Cons: Wireless is nice when it works, however, after about 30 mins of non-use, when it is in sleep mode, it falls off the network. The only solution for this is to physically turn off the printer and turn it back on. This has become such a hassle that we now leave the printer off, and only turn it on just before printing - which is a hassle because it is shared and requires two trips to the printer for people who don't sit near it. Called Samsung tech support, they had me made a few modifications and then when nothing worked, they told me it was a problem with my wireless router. Not so, I have two other wireless printers connected that do not fall off the network.

Overall Review: We are all happy with this little printer. Although the print quality is not exactly up to the old HP's, especially on Cotton and Linen paper, it far surpasses many of the other (and more expensive) lasers on the market right now. I am curious if the Brother brand does any better with Cotton/Linen paper smudging and flaking off, I was going to go with Brother if this Samsung didn't do any better on textured paper than it does.

Most Critical Review

Overall just OKAY

Canon imageCLASS MF4370dn 2711B019 MFC / All-In-One Up to 23 ppm Monochrome USB Laser Printer
Canon imageCLASS MF4370dn 2711B019 MFC / All-In-One Up to 23 ppm Monochrome USB Laser Printer

Pros: This is a good AIO machine. I set this up for a small law office and they have been happy with the basic printing, copying and YES faxing (although see cons). I gave it a three because it does most things pretty well, it accepted third party toner and does just about as well with it that it does the Canon brand (which is 3x more expensive) - however...

Cons: 1. Out of the box, noticed that it does not print exactly straight. I called Canon tech support and they told me I might have gotten a defective unit, I returned it, got a new one and it has the same problems. This is a problem for a law office that needs professional straight printed docs 2. DOES NOT PRINT WELL ON ANYTHING BUT REGULAR PAPER. This is the most important part of this review, as I have not seen it before, and had I known this I would have stayed away from this printer. The office uses Cotton paper for it's stationery and the ink just falls and flakes off. I sent a test letter through the mail and when I opened it, I was embarrassed, there were smudge marks and places where the almost half the ink fell/smudged/flaked off. The letter looked awful 3. FAX has a problem with Auto-detect mode, had such frustration trying to get this to work, that it's now left in manual mode where you have to answer the phone, then press two buttons to receive a fax

Overall Review: However, for most printing and copying of internal documents, it's a good little machine. If you're printing on anything but normal paper, STAY AWAY (to be fair, this is a problem with most lasers in this price range). Like other comments, the Network Scanning is useless, and after about 5 months in service we're starting to notice a black line through documents copied through the Auto Document Feeder. If you're looking for a decent AIO, mostly for copying, faxing and printing internal use documents, this is a good bed - however REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH HOW IT PRINTS (then falls off of) COTTON PAPER

Good Photo Frame

Aluratek ADMPF108F 8" 800 x 600 Digital Photo Frame with 512MB Built-in Memory
Aluratek ADMPF108F 8" 800 x 600 Digital Photo Frame with 512MB Built-in Memory

Pros: Good screen, much the same as more expensive 800x600 dig photo frames, I actually like the contrast and color rendition better than a viewsonic i also just bought. Was a little concerned about the "Aluratek" name as a name I've never heard of, but it's also of more sturdy build than the viewsonic. All in all, if you're looking for a Good 8" Dig Photo Frame, and not just good-for-the-money, but Good you should try this one (and yes, it is cheaper with a few more functions than the other bigger name ones)

Cons: Read comments about the speaker not being so good, I didn't expect it to be good, and don't really like the thought of background music. For some reason, the on board memory maxed out at around 380mb. I would have like a random option (there is a random option, but it chooses the transition btw photos, not random display of photos)

Overall Review: I'm probably going to buy another one, as it's one sale now with free shipping for a total of $10 less than I paid. Also, the remote control is a nice touch.
