Antec Minuet350 Piano Black Steel Micro ATX Slim Case Computer Case 350W 80PLUS Certified Power Supply
Antec Minuet350 Piano Black Steel Micro ATX Slim Case Computer Case 350W 80PLUS Certified Power Supply

Pros: supplemental review

Cons: wish front panel was black

Overall Review: After reading some reviews I noticed the following comparison saying that this is the same as the Rosewill R379-M. It is not. The biggest difference is this one has a 80+ efficiency 350 watt max power supply and the Rosewill has a standard 300 watt power supply. A high efficiency Antec power supply is going to last longer then a generic power supply. Mine is going on 5 years now no hiccups and voltages still perfect.- it also runs cooler than a standard power supply since its high efficiency. In this form factor if you want longevity and you value your components, it's worth the extra $$ for the better power supply.

Most Critical Review

better switches out there

TRENDnet TK-205K KVM Switch with Integrated Cables
TRENDnet TK-205K KVM Switch with Integrated Cables

Pros: Great heavy duty cables. When it works, the display is very good.

Cons: It's picky about which MB it connects up to. Some computers will connect & switch with no problems, other computers it will not recognize at all. Even with restarts on both computers and fiddeling around- no luck. My personnal failure rate was about 30%, but many of the systems I work on are >4yo, for family members.

Overall Review: I thought this was just something to deal with as far as KVM switches were concerned. Then on a whim I thought I would get the IOGEAR GCS62 from BB (figured I could take it back if it were no better. This is 100X better- if I would have known I would have bought it from newegg and saved some$$. This thing connects up to anything I throw at it. It even worked with a Dell that had no ps2 ports using one of those Y adapters usb to 2 x ps2 ports. I was amazed

Packaging fell apart

RiDATA 700 MB 52X CD-R 100 Packs Disc Model R80JS52-RDF100
RiDATA 700 MB 52X CD-R 100 Packs Disc Model R80JS52-RDF100

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Cheap- you get what you pay for. The shrinkwrap was torn and the CDs were all over the box (since there is no spindle). I'm sure the packer who put it in the box was partly to blame because he/she made some lame attempt to try and conceal the problem.

Pretty decent but could be better

NuGiant NSS05 Galaxy Power Surge Strip
NuGiant NSS05 Galaxy Power Surge Strip

Pros: Lots of room for plugs pretty great except for 1 thing (see cons)

Cons: I had 3 3-prong wall warts to plug into this. All 3 of those wall warts had the prongs in the reverse direction making them not possible to plug in without block the other outlet. If I were to design this over, I would have 2 of the 4 wall wart outlets going in the opposite direction- this way you could accommodate both types of 3 prong wall warts.

Overall Review: It's really a decent strip for what I paid- it was on sale for $19.25, but I just happened to have 3 remote controlled wall-wart outlets i was plugging into it that had the reverse direction- so i had to use mini 3 prong extension cords.

Lasted a year

Team 32GB microSDHC Flash Card Model TG032G0MC28A
Team 32GB microSDHC Flash Card Model TG032G0MC28A

Pros: Cheap

Cons: It died after a year. Can't be read on any device. I lost about 5 GB of new pics I had not backed-up yet (lesson learned)

Overall Review: I should have backed up. Will replace with a SanDisk.

Another review by me

ENCORE ENHWI-2AN3 Wireless Router With Repeater 802.11b/g/n up to 300Mbps/ 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Port x4
ENCORE ENHWI-2AN3 Wireless Router With Repeater 802.11b/g/n up to 300Mbps/ 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Port x4

Pros: This is the biggest secret in the world. I originally bought several of these to use as repeaters. After being thoroughly unimpressed with several over the past 12 months: DIR-657 Dlink, Linksys EA4500, Netgear WNDR4500 - I seriously thought I was doing something wrong- especially after the $180 Netgear kept dropping connections and causing IP conflicts. I have a home network with a total of 11 hard wired devices in addition to another dozen wireless devices. After the Netgear kept failing me I put the Encore on as a temp, so I could go out and buy another high performance router. Over the next few days a funny thing occurred to me, my connections weren't dropping and the throughput wasn't throttling down. I really wasn't expecting this to be a permanent solution, but this little router performs like a bad boy. In addition I thought those dinky little antennas wouldn't reach anything- was I wrong! I have this set-up in my basement , I get solid wifi up to the 2nd floor bedrooms in addition to across the entire house on the 1st floor. The house including basement area is about 3500 sq ft.

Cons: It's more expensive now than it use to be. Not the clearest instructions, better off going to the website.

Overall Review: Sometimes less is more. This isn't dual band, it doesn't have a guest separate wifi and blah blah blah. When it comes down to it, what good is all that junk when the wireless router can't do it's rudimentary functions well. Good signal, good throughput, no dropping connections, no conflicts- this way exceeded my expectations. I just can't believe it works as well as it does, especially considering the amount of devices I have attached wired and wirelessly.
