Doesn't really latch.

Pros: When you need one you need one and this one fits the bill in general.
Cons: Latching is a bit misleading. With thick power cables, the connector does not latch tightly enough at the SATA end to avoid being pulled out by the cable tension. I had to fasten down the power cable in such a way that the tension was relived to make it work. It really should lock tighter than this.
Overall Review: $10 is really quite a bit for an adapter like this but what can you do? A right angled version would be handy too.
Much too failure prone!!

Pros: Low cost.
Cons: Of the factors that drive selection of an internal HD, reliability is surely one of the most important - who want's to lose their data? I have four of these running in a RAID 5 array since mid 2010. One was already defective at build time and over the successive year and a half, 3 out of 4 have packed it in. This is the least reliable HD that I have ever owned!
Overall Review: WD now indicates that these are not suitable for enterprise RAID installations. My RAID is on a computer used for personal applications not enterprise use and runs a few hours each week. Even in that application, reliability is miserable. Run away...
Failed in short order

Pros: The price is low and these drives generate little heat, which is important when building a RAID array. The performance of the cluster of 4 of these drives running RAID 5 off the motherboard controller was quite acceptable and they do run very cool.
Cons: I ordered four of these and one arrived dented :-( Newegg did replace it without any fuss at all but it made me wonder how these bare drives (OEM units in an anti-static foil pouch) were being handled. HDs don't like being knocked about. Within a week of setting up the computer, a second drive failed. The RAID array is in the process of being rebuilt but two problem drives out of four isn't making me smile.
Overall Review: At least the RMA process through Newegg is pretty problem free. On the technical side, I had thought that 5400 RPM drives might be slow in a photo editing application but I was pleasantly surprised.
