The BEST 2.1 Setup

Creative Inspire T3130 2.1 Speakers
Creative Inspire T3130 2.1 Speakers

Pros: Crystal clear highs, powerful sub, and convenient volume control; all in one small package. When I took these speakers out of the box I was not expecting them to sound nearly as good or as loud as they do. Watching Avatar for the first time with these was incredible. Turn on Dolby Virtual Speaker and set the two speakers about 2 meters apart and it *almost* sounds like true surround. (Your mother won't be able to tell the difference)

Cons: The speaker input in the back of the sub is a bit fidgety. Although, as soon as you turn the plug a bit it works fine. It isn't 7.1 (or 9.2 ;D)

Overall Review: If you live in an apartment or with roommates, buy these speakers. You will not regret it!! Also, get a cheap ASUS Xonar sound card ($30), regardless of your on board sound. I have 7.1 on my board and with the technology on the card it makes everything sound 10x better.

More than just a gem...

Asus PB Series PB238Q Black 6ms(GTG) IPS panel HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight Monitor,250 cd/m2 ,ASCR 80000000:1 , Built-in Speakers, Height and Pivot adjustable
Asus PB Series PB238Q Black 6ms(GTG) IPS panel HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight Monitor,250 cd/m2 ,ASCR 80000000:1 , Built-in Speakers, Height and Pivot adjustable

Pros: The image quality met the level of wow that I have come to expect from Asus monitors. Some people complain about the small amount of glow you can see on black screens on IPS monitors. This monitor has barely any glow to it at all. Only one small spot that isn't even noticable from more than 2ft. The stand on this thing is incredibly sturdy, easily adjustable(air pump for height is really high quality), and really nice looking. Just overall good design. When turned into portrait mode, this thing looks ridiculous. You could fit an entire poster on it.

Cons: I can't think of anything I don't like about this monitor. Well worth the price paid for it.

Overall Review: Got it from another dealer after Newegg was sold out.

The perfect mouse

Logitech G9x Black Two modes scroll USB Wired Laser 5700 dpi Gaming Mouse
Logitech G9x Black Two modes scroll USB Wired Laser 5700 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: - Extremely comfortable mouse with inter-changable shells for your grip style - Incredibly responsive and sturdy keys that in my year of owning have not failed me once - Really intuitive DPI - / + button system that makes switching between shotguns/ snipers/ turrets really easy and actually gives me an advantage at times since in BF3 (and other games) the game changes the sensitivity on you. - The free-scrolling wheel makes browsing long PDF files for school much easier - The weight system is nice. Set it and forget it. - The inner shell of the mouse is very sturdy and doesn't collect crumbs on the inside. This makes it easy to just take the outer shell off and wipe it down quickly.

Cons: - Braided chords always ruin themselves the moment they get tangled - It doesn't have a bunch of themed shells that I can buy - The gliding surface on the bottom is starting to wear after a year of use on many kinds of surfaces. Still works fine though.

Overall Review: I have owned many mice and none have felt as comfortable to me as this one. IF this mouse ever gives out on me I'll probably buy a new one. Hopefully they still make them like they did in September of 2011.

Good Entry-level Keyboard with a RAZER pricetag.

RAZER RZ03-00260100-R3U1 Arctosa Keyboard
RAZER RZ03-00260100-R3U1 Arctosa Keyboard

Pros: - Standard quality keyboard that has taken over a year of abuse - Keys are organized in a way that are familiar and comfortable - The wrist-rest comes off (much more functional this way) - Is a pretty stylish keyboard considering its quality - You aren't losing any value here. This keyboard is exactly what is advertised.

Cons: - Not a mechanical keyboard. The keys aren't necessarily uncomfortable but they don't feel nearly as good as mechanical. - Very hard to clean. The keys have a spread taper to them that seals the innards to a point where lots of tiny stuff can get in but doesn't allow for crumbs, hair, etc to fall back out. This is normal for a keyboard but with these types of keys it is more of an issue. You wont find a membrane keyboard that makes it easier though. - The wrist rest. Fortunately it comes off. I've thrown mine away. - The cost. This is RAZER quality so you are getting what you pay for. The thing is though that for a little more you can buy a mechanical that will be completely worth it in the long run. If you want a membrane keyboard then you shouldn't be spending more than $20.

Overall Review: This keyboard has performed well for what it is over the past year. It looks good on my desk and hasn't ghosted once. I would recommend it if it were the sale price that it was when I got it. At $45 you should just get a black mechanical keyboard. Even if it isn't RAZER. I just picked up a BlackWidow and since I am a regular gamer I have found it worth every penny.

Well priced awesomeness

ASUS Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity EAH6850 DC/2DIS/1GD5/V2
ASUS Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity EAH6850 DC/2DIS/1GD5/V2

Pros: -6850: Will run any current game at high settings with at least decent frames. 3D technology. Just ridiculously fast. Eyefinity. Regular HDMI. Movies look much nicer than with my core i3 integrated HD. -ASUS: Pre-clocked at 790mhz. Pretty decent heatsink. Fits in my NZXT Vulcan. -Price: I got mine when they were release for $210. I didn't mind. Now that it's cheaper I recommended everyone get this card.

Cons: Not ment to play everything at 1080p. This thing gets pretty warm. Even with the fan at 70% and 6 case fans this thing will get up to 60c on load easily. Rests at 40-45c. This is expected with most newer cards but it's still inconvenient. -ASUS: Driver disk is completely useless. Do not use ASUS software to OC this thing!

Overall Review: As long as you aren't upgrading from a GTX460 or HD5830 (which is silly) you will not be disappointed with this card. It will play BFBC2 maxed out with no lag at all. BE VERY CAREFUL OVERCLOCKING THIS CARD. This thing is already pretty hot. Unless you want to get an aftermarket cooler (or graphic distortions) I would say don't overclock it at all! You really don't have to.

Great stereo sound!

Sennheiser - DJ Headphones (HD 205)
Sennheiser - DJ Headphones (HD 205)

Pros: These are the best stereo headphones you can get for this price. Very comfortable cushioning that doesn't leave a rash on your ears for wearing them for too long. Even at full volume you will be the only one who can hear them (and they do get loud.)

Cons: Can be a bit of a tight fit at first. Yours ears will get tender after wearing them for a while. The right earphone can rotate back and forth, which is silly because the left can't. So unless you are trying too hard to look like a DJ that feature is useless.

Overall Review: I am using the headphones with an ASUS Xonar card with Dolby Headphone (paid $30 for it on Newegg) and this is as close as it gets to surround sound coming out of your head (which all headphones project sound as if it is coming from the middle of the two earphones) Don't waste your money on "5.1 Surround Sound Headphones" they will sound great but it is still virtual surround. With these, (or even HD-202s) and a good sound card (with Dolby Headphone), it is as close as you will ever get to headphone surround.
