I don't often do this...

Pros: Large capacity, great concept, looks great, decent price (if it worked as inteded).
Cons: Very poorly executed. Slow when it worked, useless when it didn't work, which was most of the time.
Overall Review: I don't often write reviews and I have never returned an item until now. I got this to replace my other networked hd set up that I always felt was hokey and sophmorish. So I was pretty excited to see this product. Upon hooking everything up, the 1st thing I tried was to transfer all of my backed up movies, about 300 gigs, and after several attempts it was not able to transfer a single movie. All of the folders and smaller associated files were transferred, but no movies. It would error out after 12 hours. BTW, it said it would take 7 days to transfer the 300G's. I suspected the router or cable even though all RJ-45 lights were green. I swapped gigabit routers and sure enough it got faster but it was still completely impossible to transfer my movies, music, and pictures. Pictures would transfer corrupted. Trying to open any file that was miraculously transferred onto the My Cloud drive was also incredibly slow. Also, the apps suck. They were also slow. They are difficuly to use to navigate through your files. It makes no effort to sort your media files. It actually makes my older setup's apps and interface look like a polished diamond. I see WD on these NewEgg reviews apologizing and giving suggestions. And even though I can appreciate the effort, please don't try to help me. I have seen the suggestions that you have posted I have tried them all. I had the latest firmware. I tried multiple gigabit routers with minimal improvements. Please figure out why it's sooooo slow, and please look at what the competition is doing as far as app features and find some ispiration.
