Great for raid1
Pros: I've been running 2 of these in raid1 as my primary storage drive for over a year and have been immensely satisfied. I haven't had a single issue with. Quick, responsive and plenty of storage room.
Cons: None
Pros: Everything about this case is easy to work with. Side panels come off easier than any case I've owned. Cabling is a breeze, all my cables are run behind the motherboard tray. Installing drives requires no screws whatsoever, another excellent feature. Also love the bottom mounted PSU. Switch on back to turn off the blue LED's on the top fan.
Cons: Only downside to this case (and it's minimal) - the stock case fans come with very short cables, that only reach a built in fan controller mounted in the case. It lets you plug in 4 fans and power them from a single IDE power cable which is nice, but it makes it hard to plug them into your motherboard if you want it to be able to control fan speed. Still they work well, some of the best stock case fans I've encountered.
Very solid, but loud
Pros: Case is solid, assembly was quick and easy. No bad fits with cables, no loose drives rattling around. Works just fine under XP with my new 200gb Seagate. Keeps the drive running cool.
Cons: The fan can be very loud when it has to run fast, but its normal, background level is fine. For the small amount of time its loud, it doens't merit losing any points.
Overall Review: Great enclosure for the price, I highly reccomend it for anyone looking to convert those oh so cheap IDE HD's into a lovely new external drive.
Comments: Almost through my second spindle, no coasters using Plextor 708A and Nero. These DVD-R's are solid, and as always newegg rocks!
Great Deal
Comments: I bough these back when they were 60 bucks a Pack and i didn't have a single coaster in the whole bunch (plextor +/- 708A). At 36 bucks you can't go wrong.
