Am I doing something wrong?
Pros: Once I got it to work it works flawlessly. Needed to get windows XP with Service Pack 2 attached before I could load windows as someone else has mentioned.
Cons: It's a lot of money to pay for a very slight increase in performance over my existing setup.
Overall Review: Takes 36 sec to open windows only a few seconds sorter than with my other drive. A8N-E MB/ AMD 4400+/ Windoes Pro. Maxtor 160GB Hard Drive.
noisy fan
Pros: The Heat Sink does a good job of cooling and the fan looks cllo.
Cons: Mine is noisy and seems to rev. I wish there were a way to slow it down as it runs at 2650 to2750 RPM. Should use a 2 ball fan.
Overall Review: Took the fan off and sent it in for replacment. Bought a Stelth 2 ball fan it runs ar 1795 RPM is quite and keeps the CPU cool.
I really like this machine
Pros: I have had it about 6 months. It's quiet, fast, easy to use, up-gradable, looks good with the metal front. You can here the fan at start up and then nothing. (My old machine made so much fan noise it drove me nuts.)
Cons: Maybe should have waited for the i5 processor. But very happy with this one. It fits my needs well.
Overall Review: Bought this to replace and old desktop. When I bought the old one it was top of the line. This is so much faster and quieter. I put a solid state cash drive in it and a usb 3.0 card and my storage is also lightning fast. I do not do a lot of graffics intensive stuff but there is room for an upgrade graffics card as long as you don't need anything too elaborate. So far this is working great for me.
Pros: I Love this thing. With airports getting more cramped this makes it easy to watch movies. Also I store my movies on micro sd card which is convenient. I can also use this machine for every thing else I do. Like writing this review. Easy with the added keyboard. It is fast to boot and has a super fast disk drive. Beautiful screen and so far rock solid operation.
Cons: I wish the base had more USB ports. it would be nice if they were USB 3.0 but it's not that big of a deal.
Overall Review: If you read the pro reviews it is hard to believe any one would by this thing but most users feel the same that this thing is really neat. I gave my son my Sony Laptop which was also a nice machine but I just don't need it.
Excellent Solution
Pros: Makes my system fly. I have a new Lenovo H420 which has SATA 300 so I could probably get even better performance with a SATA 6gb/s interface. I have added a 4 port USB 3.0 card after installing this and everything is still rock solid. My boot time went from 90 seconds to 51 sec after a few boots. After 5 weeks I am booting in 32 seconds.
Cons: I do not think this thing shows up in the Windows Experience test. My numbers do not seam to have gotten any better. I wish I had a program to test this thing and see how much improvement there really is.
Overall Review: Following the instructions on the card that came with the drive installation was a breeze. It has been running rock solid and my computer is noticeably quicker. What else can I say.
No issues so far
Pros: The board easily went into my computers video card slot which I do not use. It did not cause any negative issues that I am aware of. Once the driver was loaded from HighPoints website my 3.0 hard drive was recognized and everything seams to be working perfectly. I have not tested the performance yet all I will say for now is that it seams to be faster with my hard drive. I am waiting until I get a cable for my 3.0 SSD before I comment on how well it works.
Cons: No cons at this time.
Overall Review: I did not load the driver from the disk as the installation booklet tells you to go the their website to load the driver which was very easy. I am waiting for a cable for my SSD (Crucial C4 128gb) before I test this thing for speed. I have a USB 3.0 flash memory card, a hard drive, and a SSD so I thought I might as well get the ports to allow them to work their best.
