Pros: FAST, quiet, low power consumption, wonderful build quality. I upgraded to a 980 from a 670 and the difference is literally twice the performance if not more! This card literally eats games for breakfast lunch and dinner.... and dessert. Recently purchased Shadow of Mordor and this card runs that game maxed out at 1080p at over 60fps no problem! Rig: Intel i7 3770k OC at 4.0Ghz ASUS Geforce GTX 980 4GB Intel DX77GAL-70K Mobo Sandisk Extreme 240GB SSD Samsung EVO 840 256GB SSD Thermaltake 850W Smart M Series SP-850M PSU Antec 902 Case
Cons: None.
Wow. Just wow.
Pros: I still cant get over how well this card performs for the price. Unbelievably fast and very quiet! Also stays very cool as well. Ive been running tests and benchmarks on it for hours straight and i cant get enough. Currently running BF4 at 1080p fully maxed out with 100-125fps..... completely eats up games like D3, Sc2, Dota/League of Legends. On top of all that, its smaller, adn performs TWICE AS WELL as my previous GTX 670 FTW edition from EVGA, which i had for about 2 years and never had a single problem with. ALSO, this thing can handle quite the overclock, ive got the core clock about 100MHz past the factory overclock and she runs like a charm!
Cons: I wouldnt consider this a con so to say, but if youre looking to do anything past 1440p gaming i would at the very least look at the gtx 980, but even then, youll need 2 of either the 970 or 980 to pull 60fps at 4k resolution...
Overall Review: I can understand the one of the reviewers points before me, sayiong they felt like the card was "cheap". Well thats probably because the entire shroud for the cooler is made out of plastic.... but so are 90% of other aftermarket coolers out there.... EVGA has been doing this a long time, and ive had the pleasure of working with a handful of their cards, not once have i been let down. Ive heard complaints about them all, ASUS/MSI/Zotac/PNY etc... guess what, EVGA has possibly the best warranty program of them all.
Whats with all the bad feedback?
Pros: Idk what's up with all the bad luck with this board but iv'e had nothing but good luck so far. All ports work great. Installation was nice and easy. The board looks great in my rig! It's been in the rig for about 3 months now without a single issue yet.
Cons: none so far.
Phenomenal
Pros: This card has done nothing but satisfy my needs! I upgraded from an AMD Radeon 6850, and MAN is there a difference. I can max out any game i throw at it, including AA settings, and still get 60+ Fps in most. The card also runs fairly cool, i use EVGA Precision X to control the fan speeds. The card never goes over about 62C on a full load.
Cons: None, im beyond satisfied with this card. Props to EVGA for their great build quality!
Overall Review: Like i had said in my "Pros" this card can run quite cool, i recommend using EVGA Precision X, or somthing similar like Msi Afterburner to control your fan curve, and of course... do some overclocking if you feel the urge......... Cheers :)
Great CPU!!
Pros: I decided on this CPU for my first ever PC build. So far it works like a charm. Haven't decided on overclocking yet, but if need be, from what iv'e read on this guy it isn't hard to do and it handles overclocking well!
Cons: NONE.
Overall Review: BUY IT.
Best card for the money hands down.
Pros: Card runs very quite and very cool. i keep the fan running at 65% and have fully overclocked the card. it never sees past 52C. Currently running Battlefield 3 on ultra/high settings at 35-45 fps. Starcraft 2 on max settings 60-70 fps. SWTOR on max settings it bounces between 50-80fps. Loving this card, thinking about crossfiring...
Cons: None so far!
