G.SKILL Ripjaws
Pros: Ordered 2 sets of these on separate occasions. These were the first ones I bought, and I couldn't be more satisfied. They look great, and score a 7.8 in the WEI. Overall, good memory and very reliable.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I kinda wish I bought the 2x8GB sticks, but I bought these at a great price, so I can't complain!
Acer G236HLBbd 23"
Pros: -Cheap at time of purchase (~$126) -No dead pixels -Good image -Very lightweight (used on a glass-top, so obviously less weight = better)
Cons: -A bit too washed out/bright by default -Viewing angles aren't the best
Overall Review: I bought 3 of these as a birthday gift for my brother. While he loves them, his only complaint was that there's too much light and not enough "deep" color. It took a small amount of tweaking to get it to be better (though still not the best). However, after the tweaking he had no more complaints. The viewing angles aren't an issues for a single-user (as intended), but often times when someone tries to look over to watch a video/gameplay, etc. it's a bit difficult to see. Still, for one person it's relatively fine. I've used them myself a few times, and I really am happy with the purchase. I'd buy them again if they went back on sale.
SanDisk Extreme 120GB
Pros: -Got it for a decent price at the time (for a Solid State) -Quick boot-up/read speed -All the pro's of a SSD
Cons: -Still expensive -No bracket/cable. I realize it's not advertised as having them, but they don't mention they don't have it either :-/
Overall Review: Even though I got it on sale, SSD's are still expensive. That's the only reason I gave it 4 eggs. Some may argue, but seriously, when a 7200 RPM with 20x the space still costs less than this (or even the same), it's a bit disheartening. Still, placing the OS and some common applications on this seem to make me forget the price when everything loads extremely fast. Would have been nice if it stated that it's a bare drive only. It's not the reason I took away an egg, but still. Ah well...
Seagate 1TB Drive
Pros: -Good drive -Not DOA -Cheap at the time -Still no issues
Cons: None - got what I ordered and expected
Overall Review: Bought this before the floods occurred, so I got it for a pretty good price. Very reliable thus far, no issues at all. Originally bought two WD 1TB drives, but both were bad (scanning would give a lot of bad sectors, and would eventually lock up with the scan, even with the WD utility), so I went with this Seagate, and I'm very happy with it. Amazed to see so many bad reviews.
OCZ 750W
Pros: Works great
Cons: None
Overall Review: Absolutely no issue with this PSU. I was building a system for my brother, and I wanted to do a good but affordable build. I also wanted to buy a modular style, but this one was on sale when I was buying it and it had great ratings from other reviews. It powers up the 560 Ti's in SLI, i5 2500k, Blu-Ray burner, 2 drives, and the multiple fans that are on the case. I've heard complaints about other PSU's being loud, but that's not the issue with this one. Strongly recommend.
