This review is from: BUFFALO WXR-1900DHP AirStation Extreme AC 1900 Gigabit Dual Band Wireless Router
Pros: When it works it's great, good wifi range, can use 2 different usb storages, 3 year warranty
Cons: It tends to not be realiable, my first one died in 30 days, when I tried contacting Buffalo all they did was blame the NAS setup. I took it back to the retailer and had it swapped out, but then again after about a year I started having problems of the net slowing down to 500kbps speeds, reboot the router, and boom it would work again, after a few month I got sick of it and contacted Buffalo, they asked me a bunch of dumb questions about the NAS (cause that would cause slow speeds when I don't have it set up to run through the internet only the local network) but finally set up an RMA. I asked for a prepaid shipping label, like good companies do, and they refused, ended up costing me nearly $15 dollars through ups for their cheapest shipping. That is more than 10% of the cost of the router! Even big greedy companies like MS offer shipping labels for their products that break! Done with buffalo, never again.
Other Thoughts: It's really a shame this horrible experience, I used to recommend Buffalo to everyone due to their good price point, reliability (my last one lasted 4 years, and lived through an ant manifestation)and they use DDWRT on some products, and the ones they don't still have pretty solid firmware and can do things like support proper UPNP for gaming to work with multiple gaming consoles/PCs, this one you can't even put DDWRT on it unless you open it up and solder a port onto the motherboard and flash it that way. Instead they chose to make another identical router later on and put ddwrt on it and charge you more money.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Love the tempered glass, nice easy layout
Cons: I hope I just a poorly machined one, because the I/o panel spot was too small! I tried 2 different I/o panels, neither fit. I actually bought this at a local store, will be taking back tomorrow and hopefully get one that was correctly madeREAD FULL REVIEW
Cons: I have now bought 2 of these, neither have the 4300U, despite it being advertised as so!
Returned the first and bought a second to save time, since newegg couldn't seem to get an advance RMA done correctly. 2nd one has a bar going down the right side of the screen.
Other Thoughts: I purposely shopped around looking for one of these with the 4300u cpu, this was advertised as having it. This was a lie! Now I have to waste my time shipping this thing back and shopping around more to find one with the correct cpu!
After trying to register this I found they are simply enterprise devices that newegg is reselling! These are not refurbished! I got this when trying to register it on MS website
This enterprise device cannot be registered to a personal account. Enterprise customers with a Premier account can visit Microsoft Premier Online; non-premier customers should go to the Get Support page.
They also all scratched up on the back, some have half ripped off stickers, stay far away, get a real refurb, not this trash.
