Good Card - no issues

HIS IceQ Radeon HD 4670 1GB DDR3 AGP 4X/8X Graphics Card H467QS1GHA
HIS IceQ Radeon HD 4670 1GB DDR3 AGP 4X/8X Graphics Card H467QS1GHA

Pros: After overclocking (using ATI Tray Tools), this card more than doubled my 3DMARK06 score compared to my previous card (HD2600 with 512Mb memory - also overclocked using ATI Tray Tools).

Cons: Price. I think this is probably the end of the line for Radeon HD AGP cards. However, I should be set for another couple of years... For those that use Omega video drivers: I was unsuccessful in getting the Omega drivers to recognize this card. However, the drivers from HIS web site worked fine.

Overall Review: I did not have any driver issues. I ignored the driver CD that came with the card, and just went to HIS web site. I uploaded the latest Catalyst/drivers for this card and all of the hotfixes. Install the hotfixes in chronological order, rebooting in between. I did not test the hdmi out, so I do not know if there are any issues in that regard.

Good Value

19" 720p LCD HDTV
19" 720p LCD HDTV

Pros: Inexpensive, decent quality

Cons: Cheap speakers, you have to really crank up the volume. However, this is no different than the speakers on a lot of 19" LCD TVs. I also couldn't get the remote function which displays an online channel line-up menu to work. I ordered 3 of these TVs, and I couldn't get it to work on any one of them. I believe the instructions might be wrong or outdated.

Overall Review: Very unsatisfied with the way the TV was prepped for shipping. I ordered 3 of these, and the TV boxes were shipped as-is, with no additional packing. I don't have an issue with this, but no shipping tape was used to seal the tabs on the boxes. All of the boxes arrived undamaged, but opened (the bottom tabs on the boxes became undone). The instruction manual and remote batteries for one of the TVs was missing. I believe it simply fell out of the bottom of the box during transit. These boxes should have really been taped by Newegg.

Memory clock is really 500mhz

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 2600PRO 512MB GDDR2 AGP 8X Graphics Card 100217L
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 2600PRO 512MB GDDR2 AGP 8X Graphics Card 100217L

Pros: I bought this card and the Powercolor card as well. Even though the documented specs are the same, I was getting about a 10% higher 3dmark06 score than the Powercolor. I finally figured out why - the Sapphire card has a 500mhz memory clock instead of 400mhz (at least according to Catalyst software). This makes it on par with the more expensive ASUS card. It overclocks very easily too. Was able to increase 3dmark06 by another 10% just by using the Catalyst auto-tune feature.

Cons: Drivers can be a pain to install. See my post on 3/25 for what worked for me.

Overall Review: Not sure why the memory clock is 500mhz - maybe it's just on certain batches of cards that were made.

PowerColor Radeon HD 2600PRO 512MB GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Graphics Card 26PRO512M AGP
PowerColor Radeon HD 2600PRO 512MB GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Graphics Card 26PRO512M AGP

Pros: Seems to work fine. No issues yet. Powercolor website has updated drivers.

Cons: Slightly lower 3dmark06 score than the equivalent Sapphire AGP HD 2600PRO card.

Overall Review: I have 2 computers that are mostly identical (WINXP, Opteron 170 dual core processor, same model motherboard, bios, etc.)except for the size and brand of hard drives. In one system I installed the Sapphire AGP HD 2600PRO card. The system with the Sapphire card gets slightly higher 3dmark06 score (~3400) as compared to the system with the Powercolor card (~3150). On the other hand, I initially had a lot of driver issues with the Sapphire card, and not so much with the PowerColor card. I also decided to use the latest Sapphire driver (which is newer than Powercolor's driver) on the Powercolor card, but the 3dmark06 score did not change.

Not bad...

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 2600PRO 512MB GDDR2 AGP 8X Graphics Card 100217L
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 2600PRO 512MB GDDR2 AGP 8X Graphics Card 100217L

Pros: Inexpensive, extends life of AGP motherboard, achieved 3DMARK06 score of ~3500. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but so far I have not had any issues.

Cons: Seems to run rather hot at 58 C degrees. Can't get Catalyst Control Center software from Sapphire web site to recognize the video card, so it won't install. So, I am using the Catalyst Control Center that was supplied on the CD.

Overall Review: I have a 939 motherboard, Opteron dual-core 170 CPU overclocked to 2.7 Ghz, 2Gb ram, Windows XP. I know people have had issues with the drivers. This is what I did: 1. Uninstall previous ATI driver and Catalyst Control Center. 2. Install driver and Catalyst Control Center from supplied CD 3. Install latest AGP driver from Sapphire web site. It was released in mid-March. The installed driver is dated 2/25/08. 4. I did not install 8.3 of Catalyst software from web site because I couldn't get it to recognize the card. So I am using the Catalyst software from the CD.
