Works with a quirk
Pros: 4 GB of storage. Small. Rugged enough to keep in your pocket. Works well.
Cons: It shows up as 2 devices. One is read only with the software; shows up as a CD. The other is your flash drive. I had issues in Linux with K3B CD burning. It would mount/umount the CD and then the flash. I have a smartq MID and it only sees the RO device, not the part you can write.
Overall Review: I'd love to blow away the RO part or have that show up as the 2nd device instead of the 1st.
DOA
Pros: Not expensive, available.
Cons: Was DOA which seems a trend with this mode I had to pay for RMA myself. (Will it get refunded?) I wasted a week sending it back. The replacement will get here RSN. I'm looking elsewhere for better RMA policies. Saving 10% isn't worth it.
Overall Review: I should have to pay for a return shipping label on a DOA item. It's bad enough that it got damaged and I have to wait for resolution to get a refund or a replacement, but I had to pay for this too.
High failure, low RMA
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Cheap. I had one of these original that failed before the warranty was up. They replaced it with a refurb unit, like this one here. It failed after 5 months. The original warranty seems to have expired 12/30/2010 and they won't auto issue the RMA. The date on the drive is Jul-2009 which means its only 1 yr, 7 months old.
Overall Review: I had a good experience RMAing the original. I've asked them to issue an RMA for this one. It failed in Dec 2010, but I hadn't had a chance to ask for an RMA. I have other brands of 750GB drives that are fine.
