Does what it says it will.

CyberPower CP850PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS Systems - 850VA/510W, 120 VAC, NEMA 5-15P, Mini-Tower, Sine Wave, 10 Outlets, LCD, PowerPanel
CyberPower CP850PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS Systems - 850VA/510W, 120 VAC, NEMA 5-15P, Mini-Tower, Sine Wave, 10 Outlets, LCD, PowerPanel

Pros: Small size means its not a pain to find some place to put it. Plenty of outlets all with surge protection half with battery back-up. Front panel display will tell you more than you probably want to know, but turns off so it doesn't annoy you. Software is thourough but doesn't use a lot of resources. Lost power twice and the UPS has powered down the system as configured. Our utility power drops out frequently. Although usually for a fraction of a second, these dropouts are long enough to turn off TV's, DVR's, and make me go around resetting all the clocks. I wanted a UPS to keep me from losing work or ending a game in the middle. So far this UPS has passed every test.

Cons: Once the main power restores from an outage, the UPS did not restore comm with the system, but simply unplugging the USB cable at the UPS and reconnecting it corrected the problem. The power-on light is large and may be a little too bright for some folks. The small size means that there is not a lot of space separating all those outlets, small transformers or side-oriented plugs cover the adjacent outlet.

Overall Review: After learning a bunch of new technology and piecing a new system together utilizing both performance and power-conserving hardware, I was beginning to think that getting a UPS was not going to happen considering the requirements of the new PSU's for pure sine wave power. CyberPower delivers this at half the price of the "name brand" in UPSs. I only found them by accident as Newegg does not have "Active PFC compatable" as a search criterium. Now I'm hooked

Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 Ultimate Collection PC Game
Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 Ultimate Collection PC Game

Pros: Great bargain for two games!

Cons: Cannot get ACII to install. Cyclic redundancy error in Data5.cab. Assuming its a bad burn so it is in no way Neweggs fault.

Overall Review: Still satisfied as ACI is definitely worth the $10.00. Now I have to find ACII because in reading the manual, it seems to be even better than the first!

Very happy

TP-Link N300 Wireless Extender, Wi-Fi Router (TL-WR841N) - 2 x 5dBi High Power Antennas, Supports Access Point, WISP, Up to 300Mbps
TP-Link N300 Wireless Extender, Wi-Fi Router (TL-WR841N) - 2 x 5dBi High Power Antennas, Supports Access Point, WISP, Up to 300Mbps

Pros: Has worked almost flawlessly since I got it. Runs cool and provides great signal strength. Although my computer is only 15 feet away -- it still has to penetrate 2 walls and a packed closet. Set up was a breeze and the web-based interface provides fairly detailed context sensitive information for configuration. Options available are vast and most probably unneccessary for a simple home network, but its nice to know they are there in case things change. I've been looking for new things to connect to it! The main TV and a printer are next!

Cons: I was having to reset the router about once a week but since I removed the bloatware that came with my network adapter (EDIMAX EW-7612PIn) I've only had to reset the router once. I am assuming that a minor configuration change will eliminate all router re-boots and manual IP address refreshes. It isn't dual band. The 5Ghz band isn't any faster but there are far fewer devices using it. I still would have purchased a dual band router but at the time I got this, there were only a couple 5Ghz adapters available (none at a reasonable price).

Overall Review: This is my first wireless router and I am very happy. I set up this network only so I wouldn't have to hardwire a new location for the cable modem or run a cable to my PC's new location. Since I knew nothing about networking initially, I read many reviews about many products and this router seemed to offer everything I needed (and more) for the best price.

Does what its supposed to

Edimax EW-7612Pin 300 Mbps Wireless 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Adapter
Edimax EW-7612Pin 300 Mbps Wireless 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Adapter

Pros: Affordable and has given me no problems. Device drivers included are up-to-date. Connects through two walls (either side of a packed closet). Provides throughput as fast as my ISP will deliver it (roughly 36 Mbps max.) Working flawlessly with a TP-LINK TL-WR841N router.

Cons: The software included seems virtually useless and pops up uncontrollably when you start the system or bring it out of sleep. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled only the drivers. After removing the software I have had to reset the router only once. I was doing this once a week with the software running.

Overall Review: My first foray into wireless networking and this adapter has been painless. The only advantage I can see to the included software is in setting up ad hoc networks, but I'm not sure you couldn't do this with out the software.

Perfect

LIAN LI Lancool First Knight Series PC-K9B Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
LIAN LI Lancool First Knight Series PC-K9B Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: First-time builder and this case was everything I wanted and much better than I had imagined. Materials and construction is solid and well engineered both inside and out. Sleek design with USB3 front connectors. No "alien" face or twinkling LED's, for me its the function thats important and this case performs. Everything is repositionable and sturdy. Inside there is tons of room and flexibility. Cable management seems adequate for a normal system, but if you actually filled all the drive bays it wouldn't be. Plenty of mounting screws and rubber vibration grommets. The 3 fans are very quiet (to me anyway) and make less noise than my old 1 fan Dell system. Front panel is simple to remove to clean the filters but solid when on - there's a filter on the bottom for the PSU as well. The power on light is not too bright but plainly visible.

Cons: These are not really cons but just minor improvements that could be made: There should be a solid divider between the light conductors on the front panel as there is substantial light bleed-over from the power to the HDD light. The tool-free installation of an exterior drive pushes the drive to one side, you'll need to screw it in if being perfectly centered is important to you. While the fans are quiet, they should come with 4-pin PWM connectors so the mobo can sense and control their speed.

Overall Review: I can't say enough about this case. While it might be boring to some and I suppose metal can dent while plastic won't, besides the nitpicking items above, I don;t see how you could improve on this unit. Very solid.

MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3) LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3) LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: My first build and this board was a breeze. Solid construction and plenty of on-board connections for USB2 (3), USB3 (1), case fans (4), etc. Comes with an SLI bridge, SATA cables (4), and USB3 bracket for if your case doesn't have front USB3 connections. Documentation for the board, BIOS, and included software seems thorough but also not designed for dummies. UEFI Bios was a life saver (see below) and is easy to navigate. Z68 chipset is sweet and I may never use the PCI-E gen 3 but its there if I need it. OCing the CPU and/or SDRAM looks as if it should be simple via OC Genie or ControlCenter, but not applicable in my build.

Cons: I could not get to BIOS prior to installing Windows. I'm using a wireless KB so maybe thats the problem, but even after OS install, I was never able to call the BIOS until I put the system in its permenant location. I changed the physical USB ports I was using for the KB and mouse and could suddenly access BIOS. I don't trust ClickBIOS's or the ControlCenter's temp readings as they will give different values even if running simultaneously. ControlCenter will allow you to adjust fan speed on 3 fans but it does not recognize that my stock Intel CPU fan is turning (I can see that it is) so I don't know if the mobo is really adjusting any fan's speed correctly. Winki3 (which MSI claims Live Update requires) will steal a portion of you HDD -- the amount and location are configurable. VideoGenie, AudioGenie, and Live Update seem to work but are nothing special.

Overall Review: Not being able to get into BIOS prior to OS install meant all my drives were originally configured as IDE. So no SATA 3 speed and no Windows TRIM support for my SSD. I was able to fix this but you have to know what you're doing.
