Tesoro TS-G7SFL-RD Excalibur Spectrum Switch Single Key Full Color RGB Backlit Illuminated Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Red
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Looks cool

Cons: Soft as pudding. I can type faster on a $10 Logitech keyboard. I returned the item within 5 minutes of using it. This is not a what you're supposed to think of when you purchase a "mechanical" keyboard. Pay an extra few $$ and get a decent Razr

Pros: -Lighting effects are cool.
-Many Lighting options, easy to switch between without software

Cons: -Keys are SOFT. If I bought a bunch of these to sleep on at night I'd sleep great because they're so soft. They were as bad if not worse than the $10 Logitech keyboard I purchased while waiting for this one.

-In fact, they keys are so soft, that there was a measurable difference in the usability of this keyboard, for me. Several Typing tests revealed I typed on average 20WPM SLOWER using this keyboard vs a Logitech K700 which isn't even supposed to be mechanical or gaming. In my opinion the Logitech has a more responsive and snappy key repose than this thing. I had the Tesoro out of the box for less than 5 minutes before I realized I absolutely hated it, and I'm not a hardware snob either, this keyboard is just plain bad.

Other Thoughts: Just pay a little more and get something that is truly mechanical. Instead I bought a Razer Black Widow Ultimate which you can get for around $100 and it's great.

Side note: When I originally purchased this the keyboard the page said "Limited time offer, ends 9/9 By Tesoro". It showed $69.99 as a "limited time offer price"

At the time of this review it is 10/6 and now the page says "Limited time offer, ends 10/8 By Tesoro". Clearly all Tesoro is doing is refreshing the information each month to make the keyboard appear as if it is on sale or under some promotional deal. This is something easily verified by price checking other sources but it's a grimy tactic none the less. Minus 1 more egg.

Kensington Pro Fit Wireless Media Desktop Set K72408US Black RF Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard and Mouse
  • neweggOwned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Its ergonomic and the mouse has to buttons on the side for going forward and backward through web pages, or you could map them for a pc game which is nice. But most mice have that now a days.

Cons: The wireless range is HORRIBLE. like the other reviewer said, the mouse has better range, but the keyboard? Forget about it. Unless your PC is on the same desktop that the keyboard is you will loose connection alot, and its frustrating. If youre one of those people who puts the computer on the floor, forget about it. If you play games, DEFINITELY FORGET ABOUT IT. spend an extra $5-$10 and get a good logitech.

Other Thoughts: This would be a great setup if it didn't loose connection anywhere outside of 3 feet.
