Blazingly Fast
Pros: Super fast, even on a mid-range system
Cons: Kinda pricey, unless you get a $40 rebate like I did by buying it locally at a retailer that rhymes with "pies".
Overall Review: My MoBo only supports SATA 3Gb, and my CPU is only a dual-core at 3.1Ghz, so I can't get the top read speeds this drive offers. But I still get an ATTO score: 205+ write / 279+ Read. After the BIOS is done, Windows 7 boots in 15 seconds flat, which is a HUGE improvement over my old HDDs.
Only some versions work on Tivo
Pros: Looks like a great device from what I've read
Cons: Bought for Tivo based on everyone else saying it worked. Unfortunately there are two hardware revisions that don't work on Series 2 Tivo (as of March 2007): A4 & B1. I got the B1 version so it's useless to me.
Great - if you can get it to run at speed
Pros: Fast RAM for a great price (in theory).
Cons: Can be unreliable at rated speeds.
Overall Review: I'd only recommend this RAM if you have a pretty new MoBo and this exact line is on the QVL. I have an ASUS Z370 motherboard that will theoretically run RAM at 4000Mhz, and the QVL contains a similar line of DIMMs from G.Skill with similar specs. Before this I was running 4 DIMMs in this exact Ripjaw line at 3200Mhz, but I needed to upgrade capacity and thought I'd upgrade speed too. My first order of this RAM wouldn't even post at anything faster than 3000Mhz! Auto-tweak in BIOS stopped it at 2800 - much slower than the price demands. So I sent those back as defective and got a replacement pair. The second pair runs rock stable at a max of 3417Mhz, and about 99% stable at 3550. Anything faster won't even post, but I can partly blame the motherboard/QVL for that - at least it's faster than my old RAM, and will hopefully work better when I upgrade to a newer board.
Works as advertised
Pros: Works with my ASUS MoBo to connect an off-brand light strip.
Cons: I do wish it were a little longer, but I knew how long it was from the description.
Overall Review: Works as advertised
Working great 11 months later
Pros: - Fast, stable, lots of slots and ports, etc - Works great with my RTX 2070 and Vive VR rig - though I don't have the wireless adapter, so I can't speak to that complaint someone else leveled.
Cons: - The only con I've found so far is that the second M.2 slot only supports PCIe, which is the faster format, while the one under a heatsink supports PCIe and SATA. So if you have two M.2 drives and one is SATA, that one has to go under the heatsink, even though you'll likely want to put the faster PCIe one there. This is a very minor quibble.
Overall Review: I don't know if the reliability problems others are seeing is a mark against it. My personal experience with ASUS has always been good, and this is no exception. I installed it in January and now in December I've had zero problems with it.
Win7 is gerat - but note one differences in OEM version
Pros: W7 is the best version of Windows yet, and you can find out why all over the net, so I won't go into details here
Cons: There are some, but not many, and definitely not enough to stick with any older versions of Windows.
Overall Review: I know it says "32-bit" right in the title of this item, so it's my own fault for ordering it when I wanted the 64-bit version. But honestly I didn't even look at it, because the retail bos of W7 includes disks for both 32 and 64-bit versions. I assumed this would too! Well, it doesn't. luckily the serial# it included worked on the 64-bit version CD I already had, so the customer's PC came out as intended. I just thought I'd make a note of it here in case anyone else is about to make the same bad assumption I did.
