APEVIA X-QPACK2-AL/500 Black/ Silver Aluminum Body/ Front Mask MicroATX Desktop Computer Case 500W Power Supply
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Looks good. Temp sensors work well, as do front connections. Front handle is actually very sturdy and holds the case well when carrying it.

Cons: Power supply died within 2 months of owning it. The aluminum material that this case is made of is extremely thin. They could have made it with thicker aluminum. Since the material is thin, it's way to easy to strip the threads of any screws with little to no effort. As others have stated, watch out for aluminum particles from the stripped threads. Also, the case doesn't sit square and flexes way too much with the lid off. If your video card heatsink/fan has heat pipes, then be prepared to have fun trying to get it to fit.

Other Thoughts: It seems like since they changed their name from Aspire Turbo to Apevia, build quality has went downhill.

If this one broke would I buy another.... Absolutely not. It's just too cheaply made of a case. I would buy another brand (Thermaltake, AeroCool, Antec, etc) if your going for a cube case.

I had to remove the PSU fan grill to get my video card to fit, and then, it still didn't fit well.

If the aluminum material was thicker, this would have been the ultimate cube case.

5 out of 5 eggs Great Fans! 04/03/2010

This review is from: Link Depot FAN-4LED-80BU 80mm Blue LED Case Cooling Fan

Pros: 4 led's per fan. I bought 4 of these to go into my case. They look great, and they actually must have a bit of a UV hue in the leds, cause they make all my UV goodies glow! Nice and amazingly quiet for 80mm fans. Leads were the perfect length to connect all fans to the motherboard in a full tower case (Aspire Turbo X-Alien).

Cons: Power lead could have been sleeved, but for the price, you just can't beat it.

Other Thoughts: Unrelated to the fans, I had the build in a Apevia X-QPACK2 case but airflow was a bit constricted for overclocking in that case, so I moved everything into an Aspire Turbo X-Alien full tower I bought back in 2004 (I just love that case). These fans replaced the original green ones beautifully and look great!

ZALMAN VF700-CU 2 Ball VGA Cooler

5 out of 5 eggs Zalman = Defacto Standard 04/03/2010

This review is from: ZALMAN VF700-CU 2 Ball VGA Cooler

Pros: Works great, looks good, and is quiet. Very easy to install.

Cons: Wish it had a 4 pin fan power connector to connect directly to the card, since the card has a digital display that now flashes since the fan is not connected. Also the motherboard I have (ASUS M3A78-EM) has the battery mounted right next to the x16 slot, and the card back support that comes with the Zalman actually touches it. Nothing that a little heat sink tubing didn't fix.

Other Thoughts: I used this on a Sapphire Nvidia 9800 GT OC since the fans on the original heatsink were going out and lost a blade while I was cleaning it.
