As advertised
Pros: Works as advertised. Small footprint.
Cons: None, but I do wish they were cheaper.
Overall Review: I wanted USB 3.0 on the front of my case housing an ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 motherboard. This card did the trick. Plugged it in to the motherboard and then connected to a Rosewill RDCR-11004 5.25" 2 Port USB 3.0 / 4 Port USB 2.0 Hub / eSATA Multi-in-1 Internal Card Reader w/ USB3.0 Connector. Now I have USB 3.0 on the front of my case.
Bad harddrive
Pros: Inexpensive desktop machine that is great for internet browsing, email, etc. Also, it is Windows 7 and NOT Windows 8.
Cons: Arrived with a bad harddrive that contained several bad sectors.
Overall Review: Machine arrived and appeared to be OK, however after installing the OS it began freezing during boot up with an error about a corrupt registry. I reinstalled the OS and the error occurred again. So at this point I scanned the harddrive and sure enough several bad sectors were found. I replaced the harddrive with an extra 1 I had on hand, reinstalled the OS and it has work perfectly since. Would I but another one of these machines? Probably (if the price was relatively low), because at the price I paid it is still a good deal and I am able to resolve hardware issues. But unless you are able to do a harddrive replacement (if needed), I would avoid buying a refurbished machine. Last thought...a simple scan of the harddrive prior to shipping it out to customers would have caught the bad sectors issue. Pretty lame to send out machines with bad harddrives when they can so easily be identified...so hence the 2 egg rating.
Bought them on sale
Pros: USB 3.0 and 16GB. They were dirt cheap when they were on sale in early December!
Cons: none
Overall Review: I bought 2 when they were on sale in early December. Gave one to my wife and I kept the other. Though it is plastic, it does not feel like it will break or crack very easily.
No issues
Pros: Quiet and so far i have had 0 issues. 3 year warranty.
Cons: More expensive because it is a red series drive (NAS).
Overall Review: I bought three of these to stick in a HP ProLiant G7 N54L that I set up as a FreeNAS box in a RAID 5 configuration.
Nice little USB keyboard
Pros: It is not too big and it works. The action on the keys is good. I used it to set up a HP ProLiant G7 N54L MicroServer so i was looking for a not too large keyboard that would not take up too much space. What more can I say...it is a keyboard.
Cons: none
Overall Review: I would buy this item again.
16GB in a HP ProLiant G7 N54L MicroServer
Pros: 16GB (2X8) recognized in HP ProLiant G7 N54L MicroServer running FreeNAS 9.1.1
Cons: none
Overall Review: If you want 16GB in your HP ProLiant G7 N54L MicroServer, this Crucial memory will work.
