Enthuist Tinkers Only Please
Pros: - Well Priced -16GB of vram -AV1 encoding -strong ray-tracing performance -Beautiful and very well made.
Cons: -Lots of teething pain with drivers. -Lacking VR support. -Current Driver Software is a weird overlay
Overall Review: I only recommend this card if you like to tinker with your system and get a weird rush from seeing a product mature over time. Every driver update is a big deal and brings massive improvements. This card is alot of fun but definitely not recommended if you are building a system for someone else.
Everything I want out of a Phone
Pros: Where to even start with this device Let me start by saying I work at a cell phone and computer repair store. I have worked on and used almost every phone on the market.. I'm using mine on straight talk in NY, USA. After tweaking the APN settings to what straight talk recommends I've had zero problems with service. Performance- Lag free, quickly changes between apps and can handle many apps running at the same time. Design- This phone might look at little cheap and plastic like in photos and videos (A big concern of mine) but far from that in person. The phone is heavy in the hand and feels very solid and dense. Don't be fooled this phone feels just as premium as you could want. Size- This phone has a 5.5inch screen but isnt as large as you may think. I am a 5'11" man with with pretty average size hands and it fits fine in my hand and doesn't look weird holding it. Camera - I had a lot of fear about the camera from the initial reviews I read. However It seems many of the problems were software related and not the physical camera it self. After a few updates to the software the camera is beautiful and compares well with phones that are way more expensive. Screen - 1080p Big, Bright, Great contrast, Not expensive to replace. Zenui- Honestly the stuff Asus added to android shows that its a computer company through and through. -a Start menu app - Hot spot tethering through Bluetooth and usb - Blue light filter - built in themes -Zen motions
Cons: Speaker- Back firing, no problems with it. Just nothing to write home about. Lock button - I get putting it at the top of the device makes it symmetrical but it is a pain to reach and isn't as clicky as it could be. Bloatware- Yes lots of pre-installed apps, many of which you will ever use or want. luckily through the combination of the manage startup apps app and disabling apps. you can hide and make most of them disappear and not impact performance. Also it's easy to root so that is always an option.
Overall Review: Worth every penny. Best $230 phone out there and maybe just the best phone in general. As long as you kinda know what your doing with the Android operating system to set up the phone and apps properly, you won't be disappointed with the amount of customization and power that is available. Thank you Asus for getting into the North American phone market with this great phone.
