Bad out of the Box-Horrible Tech Support-
Pros: Have installed many NAS drives. This would be a nice setup if it worked.
Cons: New out of the Box would not copy large groups of files from the old file server to this one. Found a lot of similar instances of this on forums. Called Buffalo and they denied any issues and told me to copy the files in smaller chucks. After way too much time I got the data transferred over. When setting up the USB hard drive backup it would not format a drive. Called tech support and spent way too much time telling them the drive was bad. I tried 4 different USB drives with the same result. They had me purchase another Buffalo drive to try. I had the same result. Called them back to RMA the drive. They were supposed to email me RMA info. They never did. Called them again. This time I was told they would only do advanced RMA it if I paid them $30.00. I explained the issue and they said I could send them the drive first then they would send me a different one or I could return it to the store and get an exchange. I explained it was now acting as a file server and my customer could not be down for weeks while I waited for a different drive. Their resolution was to pay them the $30.00 and do advanced exchange Thank Buffalo! Great Customer Service.
