Repeating the question.  Before purchasing a non-refundable key code, need someone from NewEgg to verify: can this can be used to extend an existing Quicken software account?

my answer isn't as good as the "best answer", but it is the same: YES.  ...i didn't know about the 6 month thing.

I purchase this usually around black friday, but my subscription is current through sometime in May.  I simply put a reminder note on my calendar for a week before quicken expiration, then I renew my quicken subscription with this purchase at that time.  Been doing this since they started this subscription thing back in 2018/19.

the questions about whether this works to extend an existing account (i.e. not a new user) are from last year. Does this purchase of a code still work in mid 2024 to extend an existing account?

This particular product is not limited to new users, so you can extend an existing account within the time period that the code is valid (within 1 year after purchase).  The other restriction is that you cannot renew "too soon" (i.e. if your subscription has more than 6 months remaining).  I bought the product on sale earlier, and just renew recently.

Question 3

I'm still using Quicken 2020 without an annual subscription. I don't need to be able to download from any financial institution. So I'm able to print checks and reports —  and do every I need even though I no longer have a subscription. My question is whether this new version 2024 still works like that —  namely after the initial 1 year subscription expires, can I still use the new Quicken to write checks and produce reports? OIr will the program become totally inoperable without renewing the subscription?

If you are happy with your current version there is not much reason to upgrade. If you update your Deluxe or above subscription for a year you will have access to regular updates, online features and stock price updates. You will lose those options at the end of the 1-year period if you don't renew, but you will still be able to access your files and add new entries. However, I would recommend just keeping your current version of Quicken.

Is this for first time users or can it be used for one year extention on a current Quicken?

I purchased this Quicken (code printed on a card shipped in a box) 11/30/2024 at about half of retail price. It worked to extend my existing subscription a year. I made sure the fine print at the bottom of the product page did NOT say "new account/subscribers only". I used the code with 5 months left on my current subscription. I haven't confirmed this recently: codes are good for 1 year from purchase date and can extend a current subscription 1 year only if entered with less than 6 months remaining on the current subscription.

I know this works to extend my subscription which expires in January. I currently have "Deluxe" and purchased the "Premier" 1 yr. My question: If I activate now, when do I get the Premier features, now or January when my current subsription ends?

As I understand it if you are switching from Deluxe to Premier, they will set up a new 1-year subscription on the date you activate Premier. So, the best you can do is activate Premier 1 day before your current renewal. They will only extend your current subscription by one year if you stay with your current version of Quicken.

My Quicken Premier subscription expired about a year ago.  Will this work for an already expired subscription?

Yes, this product is not limited to new users.  When you activate the new code, your subscription will be good for one year.

Can you buy it on sale a year before the update is due and will it renew? .. I want to buy it on sale

This does not appear to be a once per year sale.  The sale appears to come-and-go fairly frequently.  Last week it was valid; then it disappeared this Monday, and Wed. it was back.  So I ordered one today for $50.00.  I also purchased a 1 year subscription from New Egg in May 2023 for $45.45.  There was not a problem last year to extend my subscription.

Can you buy 2 to get a 2 year subscription for existing users?

No, this will not work.  You can only extend the subscription 1 year at a time.  And you have to be within 6 months of your subscription to apply it.  What's more the activation codes are only valid for a year.
