Can you use it to renew an existing membership?

Make sure it is not the STARTER Package that you purchase.  The one shown here looks like the extension of subscription but read on back.  To extend subscription you do not need disc...In Quicken select HELP and ENTER ACTIVATION CODE.

If I have a present Deluxe subscription, expiring in May, will this simply extend it for a year?  If so, how?

This depends on what you filled out on your subscription. You could have opted for automatic refill in which case you will be charged the full amount for Deluxe. Or you could have left it blank and then look around for the best price. In any event Quicken will notify you at least a month in advance to let you know your subscription is about to run out. Go to account status on your help menu to check on your update status.  I would recommend shopping around when it's renewal time, you'll find Newegg. Sam's club and many others offer it 15-20 dollars cheaper than quicken so auto renewal is not necessarily the best way to go.

Is this online software, or downloadable to my personal computer ?

If "Digital Delivery Available" appears in the yellow box in the description, Newegg will ship the retail packaging with the installation CD and activation code enclosed.

If "View Boxed Version" appears in the yellow box in the description, the product will be digitally delivered.

In either case, the software is installed on your computer with an option to access key features of Quicken on your mobile device or a web browser.

My computer doesn't have a CD drive. If this is a CD product, will I be able to download online & use the activation in this product to start using it?

Most software these days also provide a web link in the box to download the software if you don't have a CD drive.  I think this is the case with this software.  You'll just need to input your activation code provided in the box.

does the 30 day trial period apply for refund?

This is really just an activation code that will give you access to the software for 1 year. I don't think there is any software included. I have used this since Microsoft Money was discontinued so I don't know about "30 day trial". I assume that would be downloaded from Quicken website. You would be able to use this code for after that to continue using the software for another year.
