in one of the pictures i saw what appears to be trays on the bottom of the case. what are they for?

The trays at the bottom of the case are for mounting up to six hard drives below the rest of the system.  It is a completely separate area from where the motherboard and other components go.  There is ample room for the wires required by the hard drives, and the trays are able to mount 2.5in and 3.5in drives without an adapter.  there are three 80mm fans in this area, one intake in the front and two exhaust in the rear. This system allows for the quick removal of hard drives without removing the side panel.  There are doors on either side for the hard drive area, one side allowing the removal of the drives, the other for connecting wires.  Sorry for the lengthy response, but I feel it covers every aspect of your question.

So how do you connect the drives from the bay below the case? Is there just a hole you can thread the cables through?

There are holes in the bottom of the case in front of the power supply that you put all the wires thru, I have to hard drives in the bottom and it's very easy to run the wires.

Does it come with a PSU?

No.  This unit does not come with a power supply.  However, there is ample room for everything you want in this case.

Question 4

Helping a friend hook this bad boy up with his new build; where does the 3-pin (male) front lights go? I cant find an adapter that connects it to molex anywhere in the box.

And are the fan connected non-standard? They are 3-pin (female) and the mobo has all 4 pin spots for chassis fans and when I try to put it on just 3 of the 4 its a very loose connection.

I built my computer for my grandson. All I did was connect the fan and light wires to the molex connectors. His computer had all the conections already there. The only problem I had was when I hooked up the wires for the hard drive. There is very little room behind the drive that it broke the connection on the HDD and I had to get another one. Make sure you have the back side open first when setting up the wires. I hope this is helpful to your problem. You have to have a molex connection on the power supplyor replace it with another PS to get both sata and molex connectors.

can a 180mm fan fit on the side of the case?

I don't think so , the case already comes with plenty fans for cooling so I wouldn't even try to replace the fan for a 180 mm one , that's my advice to you but you can always modify the case to your liking .

Can the light color be changed cause I want the green light with the white case?

The leds are one color.

I don't know what color the while comes with but if it isn't green then you will have to buy new fans.

In the black case the two on the top and one in the front are green.

Easily.  This is a full tower case and it has plenty of space inside.

how do you swap out the 80mm fans?

The 80mm fans are for the hard drive section on the bottom. The two in the back are attached to a plastic grill that is held on with 4 screws. The one fan in the front requires the removal of the front door and covers as it is mounted on the lover section of the front cover.
