Question 1

ive been trying to find a nice long lasting (more than 2 years) deep bass headset and i was wondering if i should buy this?

It depends what you are using them for. They are ok for Gaming but not so good for music (IMO). The bass is kind of flat and distorted at times.

If you want lots of bass and rich sound for music , look into the Bluedio R+ Legend . They have several models to chose from but stay away from the Bluedio bestfire. They are horrible.

Some of the Bludio models have build in microphones in case you need that feature.

I use my Tiamat for watching videos and gaming but not so much for music. I believe Newegg has the Bluedio for a good price.

Keep in mind this is my opinion based on my experience.

Question 2

I actually have 2 questions:  Is there any white noise when the headsets are plugged in? This REALLY annoys me so I would love your honest answer. Also, is there a talkback/Mic monitor feature where I can hear myself as I speak? Thanks!

I've had the headset since August 2013 (9 months) and there has never been an issue with white noise. I've beaten them up, thrown them around, moved house 3 different times so they've just been tossed in boxes carelessly but they've held up great and had no buzzing, white noise or crackling.

As far as talkback, i believe i know what you're talking about as my old pair of turtle beach x(whatever number) had that. This headset does not have that feature as far as i can tell from talking in it. But that's not to say it drowns out the sound of your own voice. I can still hear myself talk if i need to know what i sound like, it just isnt because my voice is being picked up through my mic into my headset.

The mic won't work, any idea why?

The similar thing happened to me but the only way I could fix it was to move it too a different port. If that doesn't work then maybe the volume is turned down? ;) but on a more serious note if it really does not work it might be a DOA (dead on arrival) so I would contact the seller and see what they can do.
