Can I run 50 feet?  How close does the splitter have to be to the input source?

I’m actually using this with two 50’ hdmi cables and it is working well. Now I had to switch ports, the first two I used quit working. Not sure if I had a power issue, or the long cables pull too much power. But it’s working.

Question 2

Can I use this splitter to set-up a multi screen display with my laptop? (So it extends my laptop display into 3 extra screens instead of just one)

No none of these so called splitters work and they don't have what consumers are looking for as far as HDMI outs because they might have an older TV with just 2 HDMIs. They are built backwards and don't tell you this when buying you get it home and then realizes its not what you were looking for to do the job you had in mind.

Is there a remote?  If not, how does switching between the different outputs work?  Thank you.

This is not a switcher, this is a distribution amplifier that takes one input and feeds it to four outputs.
