Question 1

Looking at this Case for my first build, can you install a Media Drive (CD/DVD Burner)? The front looks like those two smaller compartments can come off but I didn't see it specifically say in the description.

Yeah it does it works fine from what i can see. I no longer have a dvd rom but when i was building the pc it had spots to add the rom and pop out slots. I do want to warn you about where the gpu will be placed. If the gpu has a long back plate like what i see in nearly all of the polaris, vega and navi amd gpus, you may have to either cut it and risk warranty, or remove the back plate and keep it somewhere safe to replace should you need the warranty. Question 2

It seems from the description and photos that it is possible to put a second front fan below the pre-installed one, but the photos don't show anything to confirm that.  Is it possible to add another fan in front of the drive cage?

It is possible, but you will lose the ability to use the lower drive cages. They have to be removed in order to fit another fan. That being said, this is a great case for the money. I made no modifications to the case and with the stock fans, it keeps my 9700K system cool enough (with a Noctua U12A for the CPU).

how many pins is the included fans? 3/4?

There are two fans, each with a 3 pin female plug. The Motherboard I installed will take a 3 pin plug or a 4 pin plug, so it worked out for me.

Is the front panel mesh? Or is it solid? What's the ventilation like in the front?

The front panel is solid.  The ventilation is fine for the purpose that I intended for the case; namely to house an AMD APU processor which combines the CPU and APU.  Low power, low heat, runs very cool at low to medium load.  A great case for an older system that still has some life in it but isn't worth housing in a top quality case.
