Does it shut off automatically or must you wait and watch it and then decide to shut it off manually?

Accepted Answer

You must unplug the popper and turn it over when the popcorn has finished popping.  By turning it over you take the popcorn away from the heat, to avoid burning it, and you also place it in the lid which is a container for the popcorn.

What is the cost of using this machine versus the cost of buying the microwavable bags of popcorn at the grocery store?

If you eat a lot of popcorn, you will save money with this popcorn popper. Bags of popping corn at the store are pretty inexpensive and they last a long time. You aren't paying for extra packaging.  Plus...it's just more fun!
