Pros: Worked. Have and older Dell that's IDE, SATA drives are way cheaper, through a 1TB SATA HDD in using this baby, was fast simple, have transferred about 200GB of info so far with no problem

Cons: Don't bother with the poorly worded, incomplete instructions (unless you need a chuckle).

Overall Review: This thing fit the bill for me. I tried this on a two year old 160GB WD SATA disk as the boot drive, and as the second drive in a system. I connected that SATA disk as the primary drive and the secondary IDE drive when testing. It was fine in every configuration. Motherboard is an MSI board circa 2003. The thing you need to pay attention to is that the pins are exposed (not a big deal). With no housing, it is not obvious which side to connect to pin 1. If you look at the pins, you will notice on one side a little arrow (triangle) pointing to one side of the pins. Put pin 1 (the red or black marked wire on your IDE cable) on that side and you will be fine. Seemed obvious to me, but did attempt to confirm with the poorly worded instructions (yeah...). This board is very low profile front to back and top to bottom. It is very thin when connected to your SATA drive, and as I tried to state in the "Pros" it is laid out such that it is the same height as the drive.

Pros: Allows the use of an SATA drive in a MDD Mac running OS 10.4. Works as either a slave or boot drive.

Cons: Cannot be used as a slave drive on the same bus as the boot drive.

Overall Review: Another reviewer cautioned about the distance between the connectors when stacking drives. This adaptor will change the distance between two stacked drives. If the distance is too far in one orientation just swap the drives and now the connectors are closer than usual but will work.

Pros: Look No Further! I looked long and hard for the features I needed, this is the only one that has it all! Master, slave and CS jumper, good firm connection, comes with power adapter, right angle mounted for tight spaces, reads SATA 1 and 2 drives.

Cons: None at all

Overall Review: This is exactly the same as the startech that is $25. A little delicate, but all computer parts are. Note: Any SATA drive connected to an IDE MotherBoard is only as fast as the IDE MotherBoard. If you want SATA transfer rates, Then use the PCI to SATA Card, Most people will not see any improvement.

Pros: Works as advertised-allows me to add a sata drive to an older computer that only had ide connections. Was a must for additional space in that box as it is running Windows Home Server and needed the space for backups/music/video/etc.

Pros: After reading some of the reviews I decided to give this a shot. My primary computer didn't have enough connections on the mobo for another sata drive but I had two ide slots free and I used this to move one of the older sata drives onto the ide channel. Connected everything and it just works.

Cons: As some other users have commented on the ide pins, I'll just say that while there is not the plastic base surrounding the pins (I wish it did) they seem to be just as sturdy as the ones on everything else. May be more susceptible to bending if bumped or if the cable is placed improperly due to the fact they don't have the extra plastic surrounding it to guide and take a bit of force afterward but if you are handling the parts with care in the end it won't matter.

Pros: Easy to use. No Drivers required. Just plug it in and and it does the rest

Overall Review: As with all PATA/IDE devices make sure you have the jumper set correctly (Master, Slave or Cable Select). This could explain why others could not get the board working. The manual has some interesting translations. I'm not sure how to "shoot the computer down".

Pros: Ordered this to interface with an IDE only motherboard. Works flawlessly.

Cons: The only downside is that is can be a little bulky when attached to a drive. Make sure you have ample space around HDD.
