Rosewill RCM-3201V True 1.3 M Effective Pixels USB WebCam

Pros: It's a great webcam! It's small and has a clean, simple look. The clamp feels loose and is easy to fit, but actually grips my monitor quite securely. It has a light which indicates when it's in use, should be very handy to prevent inadvertent video. Video has low latency, good framerate (30 fps), good autofocus, and decent colors. Audio is sufficiently loud, good quality, and reasonably low-noise. It works flawlessly under Ubuntu and probably any version of Linux, since it depends Just plug it in, and the UVC-video and USB-audio drivers handle things. Skype, Cheese, all the webcam stuff works.

Cons: The "quick button" doesn't seem to work under Linux. I'm not sure what kind of USB interface it exposes. The picture is fairly noisy at full resolution (1280x1024) and the max framerate of 30 fps. Drop it down to 5 fps, and things look really nice.

Overall Review: The cord is about 48-60 inches long, which isn't indicated in the product description. Sufficient for me, but could be an issue if your tower is far from your monitor.

Overall Review: If you're looking for a quick, functional, easy to use webcam, this is for you. It has a microphone, its plug and play, it takes pictures easily, the software is easy to use, its detected by most chat software once its plugged in. But if you're picky and looking for amazing picture quality then this one isn't for you. Go spend $100 and get an amazing webcam. The thing is small first of all, the focus is manual, and the pictures in low light can come out grainy. But who really uses webcams to take pictures anymore??? Most people have cell phones and digital cameras, the only real need for one of these things is for video chat. and for that purpose it does its job well but not perfectly. If you're looking for something crystal clear for a business video conference or want to use it for high quality video blogging look elsewhere. For video chats its perfect at 480x600 @ 30fps or less. at the higher settings it can get a bit choppy. You get what you pay for, and for $20 its a good deal

Pros: I was surprised how good this webcam is. • Excellent picture quality. • Nice looking, well made and very functional case and bracket. • USB microphone works great and frees up an audio input. • Has picture quality I've only seen in much more expensive cams.

Overall Review: I'm surprised how well this works for such a low price. The integrated USB video and mic is a nice feature. I bought a webcam a couple years ago for twice this price that was not even close in quality (it's going to Goodwill). Rosewill keeps proving that they produce very good quality products at amazingly low prices. I have bought many Rosewill products and have never been disappointed, in fact, I'm always surprised by how good they are. Newegg knows how to find great deals and the shipping on this was the usual speedy service Newegg is famous for (but by not so speedy UPS - I miss Fedex on the free shipping)

Cons: *bright light sources overload the camera, for some reason excessive brightness in one section of the shot causes severe ghosting effect in other sections. *significant barrel-type distortion on image along outer edges. *fixed focal point of roughly 1.5-2 feet

Overall Review: Used this camera for my laptop without a built-in webcam. Intended use is for assisting my brother with classwork while I am away form home for college. Tested cheaper web cams and found they either lacked adequate picture quality to pan across a sheet of math equations or a sub-par microphone. Bought this one and found it to be more than adequate.

Pros: Small size and small price. Nice picture. Easy installation in both Windows XP and 7.

Cons: Makes you sound high pitched and squeaky. Kind of like Mickey Mouse on helium. This problem comes and goes randomly. The ring on the lens is small and hard to turn to adjust focal length.

Overall Review: We bought two of these and have used them on at least 6 different machines. We see the sound problem each time. It's definitely the cameras. I would not buy these again.

Pros: 1) Uses standard USB driver. No need to worry about future Micro$$$$ operating system changes. I have a Logitech QuickCam which was bought 3 years ago. It still works. But Logitech intentionally does not provide Vista 64-bit driver to force user to buy new products. So I choose this webcam to avoid the hassle of future OS and driver issues. 2) The image quality is wayyyy much better than my old Logitech Quickcam. My dad on the other end of Skype told me this.

Overall Review: I am very happy with this purchase

Pros: Good simple web cam for programs like skype which do not require high resolution or high quality. Nice bracket that allows you to put it on top of your monitor without hassle and holds the camera still unless you punch your monitor. It can take punches on the desk believe me.

Cons: Fairly low quality image, but you know this going in.

Overall Review: Again, ideal for skype.

Pros: Very Clear image, Good color, Fast Frame Speed. Great buy for the price!! Built in Mic.

Cons: The Flexy Arms on it to hold it on top of the screen need to be a little stiffer, but thats no big deal.
