No micro SD?

No, there is no micro SD slot but you can get what they call a SanDisk TransFlash Adapter. I would not recommend this unit. I bought two of them so I would have a backup and the slot that I use most is the is the large CF slot and the slot is not deep enough. If you don't line the memory card just right when you go to insert it you will bend the little connectors over. This happen to me on like the third time i used it and had to take the reader out, i could not fix it and never installed the other one. I installed the reader from my old computer and have not had a problem since. I do hope this helps.

This is way smaller than the whole where it should fit.  Is there an adapter tray and coverplate or something like that?

This drive fits in a standard 3.5" FDD hole in any case.  If you want to mount it in a standard 5.25" case hole (like where a DVD/CD drive would fit), then you would need the appropriate mounting adapter.  I guarantee Newegg sells them.

I purchased this so it would read the SD cards from my Canon 70D camera, but I simply cannot get them to fit in. Am I just stupid, or does this reader not accept SD cards?

SD cards fit if you put them in upside down. Strange, but I have three of these and all work with the contacts facing up to insert an SD card

Is there an adaptor i can buy for this card reader? as it wont fit my Dell Inspiron 530s SFF, I've been looking everywhere for one,there is an open bay beside my cd player but the card reader is to small which is why i need an adaptor.
Any help would be great.

I am understanding your question as that your problem is that because the card reader is made for a 3.5 inch bay and your computer has a 5.25 inch bay it does not fit. If that is indeed the case then the company Bytecc makes a bracket mount adapter that will make the card card reader fit into a 5.25 inch drive bay. The adapter is available here on Newegg its product number is "N82E16817-994080"

Yes as long as you have an open USB connection inside the computer to connect it to, (usually found on the motherboard).

Not directly. Most mini SD devices come with a mini to full size converter that just looks like an empty full size SD card. I know I have several laying around. I'm sure you can find one very very cheap if you don't have one already.

How does it connect to my motherboard? I'm running a ASUS A85XM-A FM2 and the only option I see it the SATA connection.

Looks like at the bottom of your board below the light blue PCI slot that you have two slots that look the same. They look to be USB plugs, The card reader has a single female plug on it and would plug onto the number one USB Male plug if available or number two if not. I do hope this was of some help!

Is this the size of the old 3.5" floppy drives OR the size of a CD/DVD drive?  I have seen to answers here.  If it is the smaller size, does it come with a filler panel for use in a CD/DVD bay?

The size of the drive is 3.5 you will need to buy a 5.25 adapter if you don't have a 3.5 space for a floppy or zip and don't forget to buy one that includes a front cover better to get a solid all in one like this one

Question 10

How long is the connection cable? I have a very large case/cabinet with a full atx board. Will the cord be long enough to connect to my motherboard?

Don't know exactly but it should fit.  I don't know of any case where it didn't.  The 3-1/2 in. slot is usually near the middle of the tower and it only has to reach to a USB output on the Mobo.
