Rosewill USB Type C to SATA Adapter Cable for 2.5" SATA SSD HDD 3/6/2019 11:57:56 PM

Pros: This Type C to SATA cable worked well in my case. I used it to clone a Toshiba HD to a Samsung SSD (860 EVO) via Samsung MIGRATION software.
Side note:
I had originally purchased a single license ACRONIS imaging software for the sole purpose of cloning the hard drive to the Solid State. Nope. Couldn't see the SSD via the cable because drivers for Samsung 860 SSD weren't installed. Something I anticipated but wasn't worried about. I wanted to try ACRONIS out. I always make an image of newly purchased laptop for the purpose of family hand-me-downs later on.

Cons: None to speak of. Seams solid and held together well after wiggle test and then transferring data with it.

Overall Review: I used a USB male type A to USB female type C in series with this Roswell cable and still no issues with data transfer.

Great product 12/5/2018 2:31:06 PM

Pros: Speed is amazing. Sequential read/write speeds over 400MB/s
No drivers or anything special for windows

Cons: No really, maybe the cord could be longer.

Overall Review: I'm not sure how much power it really can push. Worked fine with a few different SSDs but seemed to have trouble with the one spinning disk I had laying around.
But that's pretty much assumed when purchasing the product.

Completely useless, you cannot count on your results at all. You can't after testing ,if it's good or bad, don't waster your time. 8/1/2018 8:19:10 AM

Pros: None

Cons: The power supply switch would sometimes give a green led light and sometimes not, then it fell apart. I superglued it back together but it never worked reliably. The IDE plug for the 3.5" wouldn't give a blue light, wiggle it a little and you may or may not get a light. Then when you plug in the molex plug the light goes out. Sometimes the drive will check good try it again and
it won't. You cannot depend on your test results, so what good is it? To me it was a waste of money and my time. I've had pretty good luck with Rosewill products in the past but this one is no good.

Look for an updated model 10/19/2017 6:12:48 AM

Pros: Works well with MBR and CD drives

Cons: Doesn't handle GPT drives

Overall Review: Took me a while to figure it out, but whenever I connected a GPT initialized, or a completely blank SSD to this unit, Ghost wouldn't find it. If I initialized it with GPT, it still couldn't find it, but if I initialized with MBR, I could.

Rosewill RCW-608 - USB 2.0 Adapter for IDE / SATA Device, Protective Case Included 2/26/2016 8:34:27 AM

Pros: Three years, and still working well.
Great price
Adaptable to multiple types of hard drives
On/off switch on this is very nice, so the disc doesn't start spinning up when you're not ready.

Cons: Some of the connectors on this adapter are pretty outdated, and will be used very minimally.
The SATA 3 connector that comes with this is very short, but can be replaced with a longer one for like 2 dollars. I tend to have a bunch of extra of these connectors anyhow, over time.

Overall Review: Great product. I've had mine for approximately three years, using it off and on periodically over that time frame. I do a lot of PC repairs, and it's suprising how often the HDD is the culprit, or the software installed on the HDD. This tool works great for discovering these problems, as well as moving files from hard drives.

Works 1/23/2016 10:05:54 AM

Pros: I waited years before finally buying one of these and I wish I did it sooner. This is fast (for USB 2.0), feels sturdy, and everything is laid out well.

The rubber "bumpers" are a nice bonus for the HDDs too. One for a 3.5", another for a 2.5" drive.

Cons: It isn't 3.0, but I knew that going in.

Overall Review: Would recommend for those who work on a lot of HDDs out of the case, file recovery, etc.
