Rosewill RCX-Z3 92mm Ball CPU Cooler

Pros: Copper Pipes, Lots of Aluminum Fins and a 92mm Fan. Keeps my Core 2 Duo e6400 running cool. Very Cool. I am yet to get a reading higher than 48c. I have run BF, Photoshop CS2 and T.C's Vegas. In the background I've had some of that anti-virus stuff going too. Its pretty darn quiet too.

Cons: None. It is a Tank of a H/S though, but this is not worth knocking it.

Overall Review: Guess what you hardcore critics: If you blast ANY H/S and Fan to the max it will be loud. No Exceptions. Anything going at 3000rpm will emit noise. Weird huh?

Pros: Despite a current mobo temp of 41C and a room temp of 22C, my quad-core Intel Q6600 is running at 27 idle, 35 under full load. Using my mobo's automated fan controls, the noise levels are pretty low for the most part. This heatsink can be used with many chipsets, too, and that's nice. It can be oriented in any direction so that the air is blowing the right way.

Cons: It's a good thing I bought this to do a fresh build, because it is held in by screws underneath the motherboard on LGA775 boards. The mobo MUST be out of the case to install it. Also, depending on how it is oriented, it may block installation of your RAM, so keep that in mind. There is a plastic cowl that goes around the heatsink so that the air from the fan must pass across all the fins, but this means that the fan speed cannot go too low. If the fan were to cut off, for instance, the plastic cowl would do a great job of retaining heat, rendering the heatsink far less effective. I'm not sure that the cowl is a good idea. Also, the LED lights are cool, but there is no way to control them or turn them off and on without unplugging them. Also, since the LEDs leech power off of the fan, they get brighter and dimmer as the motherboard increases the fan speed. They'll be kinda dim, and then I turn on a game, the fan speeds up, and the lights get real bright. Sorta funny.

Overall Review: I got this in a combo deal for about two dozen Washingtons. For that kinda price it is definitely worth it. It does better than a stock cooler, but I have no modern aftermarket coolers to compare it to. I'd say that if its on sale, you should consider it, but I am not positive that it's worth paying full price for. Just throwing that out there for you...

Pros: This item comes out of the box, very nicely packaged and will all the necessary accessories. I was impressed by the size and weight. Plan on removing the MB to install as well. On the right case, the unit points right out the rear case fan and keeps things sufficiently cool. The variable fan speed control is also really nice! Leave it down most of the time, practically inaudible. Then touch it up a bit for gaming. (My case fans are also adjustable, and probably do most of the work anyway.) Never above 48oC.

Cons: The plastic case around the fins tends to trap a little more dust then i'd like. I haven't gotten around to opening it up to clean, but I know the fan is easy to remove. Thinking about removing the plastic and fan altogether, to see how this heat sink would do will "passive" case fan only cooling. (again, it sits right in front of my rear 120mm case fan.

Overall Review: At the right price, this is a great item. However, there are certainly other products that should be just as effective. I'm satisfied, and its been almost 2 years!

Pros: Fan keeps my Q6600 chill. I'm OC.g it to 3 GHz and holds at ~53 degrees C on a full load. Good design and great price. I had lost my bracket for this CPU fan months ago in a move. While building my computer back up I couldn't find the bracket. I asked Rosewill if I could buy a replacement one since I spent $50 for the fan already. They went ahead and shipped me the complete box (without the fan of course) which included all the mounting hardware, they paid over $18 in shipping alone out of courtesy, how cool is that! And they didn't charge me for the bracket or mounting hardware either.

Cons: zilch

Overall Review: It's hard to find companies that take care of their customes like this anymore. Rosewill rocks!

Pros: This thing keeps my AMD 5000+ a whooping 32 degree celcius under full load!! AMAZING!

Cons: its big!! But its not really a con!

Overall Review: GREAT kind of expessive and dust builds up and needs to be cleaned every so often but is great!!!

Pros: Works great! I have a 2160 OC'd @ 3.2,idles @ 24 and haven't seen it over 42 on full load. And thats both cores maxed on TAT. EASY installation, love how it screws down rather than those annoying push pin clips.

Cons: Mine didn't come with pretty blue LED's. That is the reason I bought it of course but, Not really a con because it makes up for it in performance.So I will not let this affect the rating.

Overall Review: I have to say that this performs better than my previous Zalman 9500.

Pros: Moves air like Whoa! Keeps my 5000+ in check. Led's are a nice touch, and it is a Rosewill, so it should be good for a while. Throttle is a nice touch. runs quiet till you turn it all the way up, but, you can't hear it over what ever game you'd have to be playing to need it maxed out.

Cons: It's a Hoss! This is the biggest Heatsink/fan combo I've ever worked with. But I still give it 5 full eggs... it's super heavy too. I have it in a modded shuttle box and it's the only thing you can see on that side.

Overall Review: I'm thinking of installing one of these in every window of the house and saving money on air conditioning this year :)

Pros: Efficiently designed, great CPU cooler. It's much larger than it appears in the pictures, but it fits just fine in a mid-tower case. LEDs look great. Included fan controller works flawlessly. It keeps my AMD Athlon64 4000+ at 28'C idle, and 34'C under load. A bit expensive, but this is a high-quality product, worth every penny.

Cons: The thermal paste it comes with isn't good. It's like clay. It works, because I used it anyway as I didn't have any other, but get a 3rd party tube of paste from another brand when you order this.

Overall Review: High quality product. Rosewill did a good job on this one, but they need to include a better thermal paste.
