Does it work with windows 8?

This worked fine for me with windows 8, but when I believe since I have updated to 8.1 PRO The SD reader does not recognize the card.  The LED lights indicating that it has accepted something, but no drive is available.  Anyone else?

I have a COMPAQ Presario, an older one with USB 2.0 and XP;  will this work for me?

No, this interface requires a usb 3.0 connection. If you do not have one, you can get an usb 3.0 pci add on card.

Where do i get drivers for it?
I have checked on their site and they do not have any for this product.

It uses the drivers for USB 3.0 on your motherboard/addin card.  Check your motherboard manufactures website for the latest.  There are no other drivers required.

Can this delete files from SD cards as well as reading them?

It treats all memory cards that fit its slots, the same. It will read, write, and earase as long as the card does not have a protection switch enabled (small slide switch on the edge of some cards).

The cable is quite long. Close to 3 feet. I could run it from the top of my case (Antec Lanboy air) down under the graphics card, and to the back of the Mobo just above the power supply. On my new rig, and the plug is near the middle of the Mobo and I had to tie off and stuff the cable in a drive bay. It's long enough.

I am using a X99 chip set mother board and the memory card reader will only work 1/2 times I boot or less. If I unplug it then plug it in it will work again is this normal? I love it but not if it will not work.

Hi,
Since i install my RDCR-11003 i have no issues with it. I have a asus motherboard that support 3.0 usb connection. Mind works with windows 7, 8.1 & 10. Maybe you card reader is going bad. I assume your motherboard as a built-in 3.0 usb port that you connect your card reader to? If so you might want to see if your motherboard as the latest firmware. If the card reader is still under warranty i would return it for another one. You shouldn't  have to keep unplugging & plugging it in for it to work.

I see some complaints about this card reader not working with Win 10. Is this an issue with this product? I currently have a working Apacer APAE1011 which is USB2.0. I can use the extra transfer speed, but only if will work with Win 10.

Advise you do it with a clean install after you connect the device. Device management shows an error (don't remember it now something about security group not being owner) that essentially is only fixed by the device being present DURING the initial windows install. Kinda stunk because I bought it and had to wait until the next time I reinstalled to use it. Same thing in win 10. Install it as part of an initial build before installing windows and you should be fine

I've got an open USB 3.1 Gen 1 header (20-1 pin U31G1_E12). Will this reader work with that connector? Will I need an adapter? The MoBo says it is backward compatiable with USB 2.0 - want to make sure that includes 3.0 as well.

The Rosewill RDCR-11003 card reader will read:
M2, Extreme Digital, SD/SDHD/SDXC/MMC/RS MMC, Micro SD, CF1/CF11/MD, MS/MSPro/MS Duo/MSPro Duo.
Plus it has an extrernal USB 3.0 port
