Question 1

The 'adapter' to 4-pin is a Molex connector so "3/ 4 pin Power Connector" in the description probably caused me to purchase the wrong product.
My mother board fan headers are all 4-pin connectors, these are only 3-pin, should I just return them?

These fans are good quality, but they are for old school systems where a separate fan speed controller is used and works by adjusting voltage, or the motherboard uses "DC" (direct current) to do the same thing.  Most modern fans that are controlled by modern motherboards have 4 pins and work by  'PWM' (pulse width modulation).  Unless you are running a 10-year-old or older motherboard (like I am), you will probably be much happier with PWM 4-pin fans.  Check the spec's on your motherboard to make sure.  And look at photos and videos online to see what fans others used with your motherboard.

Also, the smaller the fan, the noisier at the same CFM.  80mm fans are a hold-over from the 1980s and 90s.  If your case permits it, use larger fans that you can run at lower RPMs.

This one is 12v dc, nearly all fans that are 3 pin or molex are 12v dc there are a few exceptions that are 5v dc.

Yes - However, there is also an adapter included that allows it to power off a 4 pin Molex connector from the power supply.

Only if there is an 80mm fan mount provided on the case.  Pull out a ruler and measure the distance to the screw holes.
