Question 1

Can the LED's be controlled separately from the fan? If not, does anyone know of any PC case fans which allow separate control of the LED's from the fan operation?

The LEDs cannot be controlled separately from the fan.  The fan controller regulates the speed of the fans by controlling the voltage and the LEDs will dim and brighten when the fan speed is decreased/increased, respectively.  So the brightness is directly linked to the fan speed but cannot be controlled separately.  In my experience, many LED case fans work this way, I don't know of any that can be controlled separately off hand.

FYI you can connect two of these fans to a single fan speed controller to control both fans at the same time if you use a Y-type power splitter cable.

Can the controller also control other fans or is just for this one?

The controller has 1 male and female molex and 1 male and female mini-molex inputs/outputs. With my power supply, I used the male molex connector as the power input, leaving 1 female molex and both the male and female mini-molex connectors free for fans. from here, You  have the option to stack fans in series on the molex connector, Or buy an adapter that splits molex into mini-molex if you want to put a lot of (more than 2 or three) fans on this controller. I currently am running the two side case fans in my computer off this controller with no problems.

Is this fan good for static pressure all (e.g. pulling in air through a fan filter)?

I would say it's more of a higher air flow. I wouldn't recommend it for a filter, radiator, or heat sink.

Question 4

If you don't use the fan controller does it just blow at max rpms?

No it doesn't I can't tell you exactly how fast it blows without the controller but if I were to guess it would probably be around half the the max rpm.

Can this fan be controlled by other fan controllers?

I have it hooked up to a Bitfenix Recon and it works just fine... have the controller that came with it controlling two more of the same fans as top exhaust in my Haf 912.. haven't had any problems with any of the five fans or controllers i've bought over the last year or so.  i cut out the male three pin and use a splitter going to the two fans... this is a good fan with plenty of power and it is nice to be able to control it for low noise...

Does this fan come with the adapter for using the 4-pin molex connector instead of the 3-pin?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't come with an adapter. I got this fan a few months ago so my memory is a little hazy. I'm 80 percent sure it has no adapter though.

I am up in the air with what fan to buy for the fractal define r4 case I am getting shipped here. I am looking for a replacement cpu fan for the Hyper plus heatsink I have, and I wanted to know if this fan is a good idea for a push pull on that heatsink? or I could go with the Cooler Master sickle flow 120mm fans that are 9 dollars right now.

Hi Patrick,
I use these (RFX-120BL) fans as case fans. It's brighter than I expected. The use of it for heatsink is interesting. As my MB has it running at a steady speed--strong and smooth now for about 8 months, it should do well for you. It's much stronger than my 80mm cpu fan, and quieter.

Will this fan work in a power supply?  It is the same size as the fan in my power supply now.

Hmm, unless you have experience in electronics repair or soldering. I wouldn't recommend doing this. Sometimes the fan is soldered in, also capacitors inside power supplies contains dangerous voltages. Also it might be too thick to fit inside the power supply.

Question 10

First of all, I want to apologize to Newegg because I accidently asked this question on a different product. My question is how do I get the fan controller that comes with the fan to work? I've connected the controller to the motherboard and the fan to the controller. When I start the computer up, the LEDs from the fan light up, but the fan doesn't spin even when I turn the knob/dial on the fan cotroller.

Did you also connect the fan controller to your power supply. I originally thought that since it connects to the motherboard it would drawn power from it, but apparently that's only to tell it the speed.
