Any chance of getting harmful chemicals or BPH or whatever they call it from the plastic?

The material in the cooking section is metal. Your food never touches plastic. I have been using mine for close to 8 months average of 4 days a week and am still happy with no complaints.

Question 2

Does this come with a recipe book and a rack to place in the bottom?

The basket is the rack, the basket has a one inch gap around the sides and under it so the hot air blows around it and can cook it from all side and it locks into a pan that catches any grease that comes from the fat in your food. Push of a button and the basket and pan separate. I remember a small few page pamphlet that came with it but there is temps and times on top of it so you cant forget.

no. not with this unit. the plastic would have to melt for that to happen. which is impossible due to the clever design.

Question 4

How long do the baskets last? Is there any place we can order a spare basket for the Rosewill air fryer? How much are spare baskets?

I have had it three and a half months. I use it four times a week. I have seen nothing to make me think the basket will fail. I have drop the basket to the floor a few times getting over the habit of my thumb on the disconnect button. I have one very small dent but has no effect. I wipe it out with a paper towel, like my cast iron cookware. I also turn it to three minutes on the timer and let it preheat before use. I bought the extended warranty from new egg and glad I did because if this went down I would be forced to order another. The basket is heavy enough it wont rot out or anything like that. This is not like a barbecue grill were things burn and corrode. I you put loads of chicken back to back it is a good idea to dump the oil out of the pan the basket is in between loads other wise it can smoke. Most of my pork loins are in and out in nine minutes skinless boneless chicken in thirteen, homemade fries in eighteen.

Question 5

I have trouble getting the fryer closed....  the basket slides in just so far and STOPS.... Is there anything you can tell me to make this basket go into the correct position???
