I have lost 2 of 3 usb ports.  Will this work for me to plug in my one good port to get more ports. ? JIM

Yes. I needed to plug in 8 usb ASIC miners for mining bitcoin. My computer only has 4 usb ports. I plugged this hub into 1 port and plugged the 8 miners into the hub. Now I have 3 ports free on my computer plus 2 on the hub. The hub comes with a power supply. How many items you can plug into this hub will be determined by their power usage. I was able to use 8 ASIC miners each consuming 500mah.

Question 2

I see its discontinued but I have to ask what are the wings for? I just saw 2 tabs on the sides of my rosewill and I didn't remember seeing them in the manual. Are they for balance or something else I'm not sure of yet.

cable management loops...this is the best thing I can come up with. I didn't even see them.

To answer your question if a power supply comes with he hub, the answer is yes. I have 3 of these being used for a cast array of things and they work perfectly. Hope this helps.

can this be mounted on a rack?

Yes, technically it can be mounted to a rack with a little creativity. The power cord comes out of the bottom of the unit so it would have to be a rack with some sort of grill at the bottom. I mounted 3 on a wooden rack and drilled a hole through the bottom for the cord. Great unit to have and they work perfectly.

Will the antminer u2's fit in this unit if it were fully populated?  they have that extra heatsink on the chip..

Jason, as you assumed, the antminer is too thick ( the heatsink) to allow anything in the slot next to it on one side.  You can try and position it at one end of the array.  Otherwise the RHB-500 should fit your needs.  It is powered and seems to be of very good manufacture.  Mine is supporting 6 USB devices and has been on since the day I received it.

What is the volt/amp rating of the power supply output?

I don't know, I used it with 110 Volt in USA and I bring one to Thailand to give to my friend as a gift and overthere electric power was 220 volt and I plug it in it is working and no problem. I
