Does this have lights to tell if hub goes out?

There are two indicator lights, one light for the first bank of 6 ports and a second light for the second bank of 4 ports.  There are no indicators for individual ports.

The switch determines if the second bank receives power or not.  The first bank always receives power.

I verified on mine: turning the switch off to turn off power dropped power only to the second bank of 4 ports and did not disrupt the first bank of 6 ports.  The indicator light for the second bank went out but nothing happened to the light for the first bank or any of the devices on the first bank.

What is the maximum amps that a single port can handle?

I was able to use a bus powered HDD off a single port which should be about 1 amp. I also have several .5 amp devices pluged in with no issue. I think this is the devices limit however. I wouldn't expect it to put out the 2 or 2.1 amp that fast charges a phone or tablet although I didn't test that it's just a feeling.

Question 3

What are the dimensions of the 10 port unit? My desktop has a shelf a few inches above and I need to know whether it would fit vertically in the space between the desktop and the shelf.

The dimensions on the product's "Specifications" tab are accurate: 6.78" x 1.42" x 1.07" (L x W x H). However the product does need an additional 1.5" of length to accommodate the USB and power cables that stick out of it, and then some height for whatever is going to be plugged into it.

I have the 10 port 500 version and it had 4 amps and this has 3.5 amps.  If I'm using this for bitcoin eroupters should I be able to use the same amount of them ,which the magic number seemed to be 8 per it or does that mean possibly one less?

You have to multiply the amps by the wats and then divide that by 2.5 (the amount needed by block erupters) that will be the maximum allowable amount by the AC power supply.

The photo shows it standing upright on its vertical and longest dimension yet I see no support or stabilizing stand. Is there an accessory intended for this to be in the vertical or does it work just fine in that position with each of the 10 slots filled with a plug?

No, this does not come with any sort of stand. It is flat on the end and stands up just fine by itself as in the picture but inserting even 1 or 2 devices or cables and it will fall over as it's fairly light. It does however have two small screw mounts on the back so you could mount it to a wall or back of a desk to get the stability you need.

Can anyone tell me what size the adapter barrel connector is?   I'm used to 5.5mmx2.5mm, but this appears smaller!  Thanks in advance :)!
