Do the ice cubes stay in the ice maker or do I have to put them in the freezer?

you can keep some in the ice maker, for use, but I put then in a bucket, in the freezer. If you leave in the ice maker they will melt over hours.

what are the power requirements for operation, volts & amps?

Power is 110 watts Voltage required 120 volts (110 would also work fine) Current = watts/volts......110/120=0.9 amperes Saw it for $99 at Sam's Club last Tuesday
