Does the timer turn the oven off?

Yes, the timer does indeed turn the oven off in all four modes (bake, broil, toast, and even in keep warm mode).  I've been using my Rosewill Toaster Oven for about 6 months now and it's a very nice oven for the price, with lots of features and a nice selection of accessories.  I highly recommend snatching one up while it's on sale (as I did)!

Does this shut off when the door is opened?

No, the toaster will remain on as there is no sensor present for the toaster to know if the door is opened.

Question 3

The info says it accepts a 12 inch diameter pizza.  The dimensions on the specifications page says it's 11.5 inches deep.  Which is right?

I can also attest that this Rosewill Toaster Oven will handle a 12-inch pizza without any problem - it fits perfectly on the included Pizza Pan.  One suggestion I have is to rotate the pizza a few times during cooking as the convection fan on the right side of the oven tends to scorch the pizza.  If you don't rotate it, one side of the pizza will be slightly overcooked.  Otherwise a great oven that I'm extremely satisfied with!

How well does this work as a toaster, given its height?  How do the controls work as a toaster, in that the only light-dark adjustment appears to be a minor rotation of the timer dial, and there's a toast selector but no "trip level" type control?

Considering that most toasters also have a simple mechanical timer dial to adjust the darkness of the toast, this Rosewill toaster oven isn't really any different.  The only difference between a traditional toaster and a toaster oven is the placement of the heating elements - on a toaster, the elements are on the sides.  In a toaster oven, the elements are on the top and bottom.  However, they both work essentially the same way.  As with any mechanical-type timer (as this toaster oven has), always turn the dial PAST the 20-minute mark and then back to the toast darkness selection to make certain that the timer bell goes off.  Once the toasting is completed, the heating elements turn off and it's a simple matter of opening the door and removing the toast!

my drip pan did not come with a bottom pan to hold it  it that the way  it is supposed to be ??

The top part of broiler is smaller than drip pan. I don't recommend.
