I was wondering if this hub has keyholes on the bottom for desk or wall mounting? I have been looking all over for a good quality hub to mount on my wall.  Thanks.

It does not have keyholes on the bottom.

But, it does have little rubber circular feet / pads on the bottom, there is one pad in each corner.  They are about 1/4 inch in diameter and about 1/16 inch thick.

You might be able to take out the rubber pads and re-purpose those areas somehow for mounting.

i have had this for many years just sitting in a draw and now I'm trying to use it and it doesn't work.  Any suggestions?  does it have to be plugged in for any length of time?

Joanie, amount of time plugged in should not matter. As this is a powered unit, you should have a power adapter plugged into the wall and to the Hub. This should be plugged in first. After the unit is powered, connect the small square side of a USB cable to the back of the Hub and the rectangular side to your computer. So long as your computer will support USB 2.0 AND you are not trying to use a USB 3.0 ONLY device, this should work. I have several of these in our office and have never had any issues. Hope this helps.

I did not buy one of these. This one does use a separate 5 volt power supply. I bought one that has 5 outputs and uses the power from the USB cables. Also I have a remote control with it for switching..EBAY search HDMI Splitter. Sorry....

Do all 7 ports provide 5Amps of power?  Thinking about using this to power a fleet of GoPro Cameras

So far, yes. But then again I have not tryed to plug in a full bank of powers devices. I have been able to use it on my external DVD drive and I can plug it in without having to use the the daisy change usb wire. Hope that helps, sorry I have not plugged in more powered devices then that.

I simply want to use this as a massive hub to power multiple USB items. More specifically, charging cords for gaming system controllers, wireless headset charging, etc. Am I able to just use the power adapter to supply power to the ports and be fine? Or will I need to plug in the USB cord to ensure full functionality?

The specifications for the power adapter say that it provides 2 Amps of output power.  So whether or not it will work as a standalone charging station would depend upon how much power each of the devices that you plug into will require, how many are plugged into the device at the same time, and the how much charge each device requires. Dividing the two amps across seven ports is likely to provide a slow or incomplete charge unless your devices are expecting to only have about .28 amps available for charging (that is 2 amps divided by 7 ports).

I have used my hub to offload some of the electrical load from my PC but I have not attempted to charge multiple items at the same time from the hub.  It has worked well in that type of configuration.  Without more specific information about the power requirements for the devices that you intend to plug into the hub, my best estimate is that it is likely that you would be disappointed by its charging performance.
