Can these be used in a table lamp that can use a three way bulb with out being damaged?

I just ?d to make sure, before I responded; I still have one 3-way lamp in an unused room, in which I tested the bulb.

RESULTS: It came on at the second 'click', stayed on at the third, and then went out at the first click. I Cycled through a few times, with no Pop! or Fizz, or burnout (lol), so I can say, based upon actual results, but limited testing, that it it's 'doable'. However, if you use the lamp a lot, it might be more advisable to either switch out the socket for a simple pull-chain or single-pole switch (e.g.., L-R shaft), or use a dimmable. I have used that lamp with incandescent, CFL, and now LED without apparent damage to any of the bulbs.

I would like to use some of these bulbs outside as a dusk to dawn light.  Is it rated for cold and damp?

This answer came a few months after I already put some outside.  It looks great. One lamp stays on 24/7, while the others are triggered by movement.  So far, no problems.
