Can the bulb be used in enclosed fixtures?

If I understand correctly, the primary reason not to use a bulb in a closed fixture is heat build up. I run one of these 24 hours a day in my central hall for a night-light and it is cool enough to touch without feeling hot. It barely feels warm - much cooler than an incandescent bulb.
