Yes they (W73) fit standard sockets.  Personally I am waiting for the O95.  I now prefer the 5000K to the 3000K.  I think the O models will be better than the W models. O56 is nice, runs cool too. W95 is REALLY bright, 3 of them will blind you, but they run a little hot.  Strive for 100 lumens per watt.  Don't buy anything less than 3000K... unless you want yellow.

what is the UL rating spec. (number)?... It matters on retrofit into a fixture in that it may void the rating of the fixture itself.

Hi, I have bought several different LED bulbs so there is a difference. The lower wattage ones (40 watt equivalent) said to use in dry locations, don"t use in totally inclosed fixtures, no dimmers. They were 6.5 watts and UL rated. The higher wattage ones (60 watt equivalent ) said good for damp locations, and can be used in closed fixtures. They are also UL listed and are 8.7 watts. The 8.7 do give a lot of light. I did blow one since it came on one of those super cold days and I did not give it enough time to warm up before I turned it on. Seems each one has different specs. But they all work fine and save electric. Hope this helps. John
