hi guys, i use a windows 7. is this compatible with windows 7? i read that it said "plug and play for Windows 8" does that have anything to do with the compatibility of the hardware with windows 7?

It will work just fine. The x1 slot will be covered by your video card most likely, but it will work in the other blue x16 slot there. PCIe x16 slots work with x16, x4, and x1 cards.

If you have hopes of a crossfire system in the future you will need a different wireless solution, becauise then you will want that other x16 slot

How good is this for gaming and livestreaming?

I have installed this card in a number of desktop PC's for folks and I've never had issues with it. It is powered by the Qualcomm-Atheros AR9380 chip, so I would recommend using it with a router that is based on a Qualcomm-Atheros chip as well for optimum results (ie- Netgear WNDR4700, Netgear WNDR4300). With this card and the WNDR4700, no lag with streaming or gaming in my experiences.

Does this work for Windows 7 as well?

I have it working stable on Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 for both bands. All were 64-bit PRO editions.

The bad news with windows 7 is that the CD they ship with it only seems to have windows 8 drivers. You'll need to get them through windows updates or transfer them through a flash drive after you download it from Rosewill's site. Their driver is listed as compatible with XP, Vista, and Win7 for the download.

I have had this card for about 2 months and it has been giving me spotty performance the whole time. Good thing I don't use this computer every day, all day. Anyway, what can I do to increase the performance and get it to be more reliable?

I've had this card about 6 months. From the get-go, it was flawless with performance. Strong connection through the entire 1800 sqft house, top and bottom, with a centrally located router. If you are having connection issues that can't be traced to environment (steel beams, crazy insulation, etc) submit a help request and see if they'll swap it, it's most likely a bad piece of equipment.

You should also check around and see if there's any troubleshooting they suggest, etc. Approach it with a friendly optimism, and you might see results. Be sure to tell them what you've tried, etc. Locations, setup, router, motherboard type. You know the routine.

Question 7

I don't use an adapter on my PC right now but my connection is awful. Will getting an adapter help?

This adapter will only allow you to connect to your WiFi. If you are far from your router or have a router with an N card in it i suggest purchasing the Netgear power line 1000. It will basically give you a hard wired connection to your router using your home’s electrical wiring. I currently use it and it’s awesome.

Are you sure it works with Windows 8?  The N600 from Rosewill does not and I didn't know it until I installed two of them.

Yes it does. I don't remember if I used Windows 7 drivers or if they had them for 8 but I've used this one two different Windows 8 machines.

As long as your motherboard has a spare pcie slot you will be fine. Just make sure you have their driver downloaded in advance. The driver disk is terrible.
