Pros: *Windows 7 x64 Ultimate Edition recognized the card right off the bat without even installing drivers. I do recommend that you install the drivers from Rosewill's site here (http://rosewill.com/products/d_1465/productDetail.htm) though.* *It's a Ralink RT2860 chip (made in Taiwan) and one of the best out there! It's OEM and Ralink also provides (very) up-to-date drivers on their site here (http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=1). Overall Review: MAKE SURE to download the drivers from the above websites I noted BEFORE installing this card in your system UNLESS you have another internet connection or YOU WILL get frustrated at having to reinstall your old card or w/e. In my case I have two LAN connections so I was perfectly fine though I did know beforehand that the disk DID NOT contain drivers even though it clearly stated on the disk to install drivers first FROM the disk... a hoax maybe? But who cares... a great product! NEWEGG rocks! Picked EggSaver shipping and got the item in 5 days INCLUDING weekends. Plus it was free and cost only $20!~ SUCH A STEAL! Kudos to Newegg.com and Rosewill AND Ralink!

Pros: Appears stable; authenticates with WPA2-PSK/AES no issues (except Linux, see below). No problem with XP or even W2K. Driver CD lists Vista so is pre-W7 but expect that should work, too. The antenna are rather unwieldy off the back of the card, great that Newegg/Rosewill threw in the RNX-A2-EX which works great - even though only 3x2 dbi it outperforms my single stem 10 dbi. Inexpensive, but Rosewill seems to make good budget components.

Cons: The mgmt tool is rather crude, but it does provide data that Windows vanilla does not. If you are using Linux, you should before buying check your distro's kernel version and driver implementation. While you'll have no problem with WPA2-PSK, AES is an issue and w/o it you are limited to G's 54Mbps speed. You'll need wpa_supplicant and wext compiled in to get N. You can compile from the source at the Ralink site, but depending again on the distro that can have its own issues. If you need N and are not technically proficient, do the extra homework first or choose an adapter with a different chipset (this uses the rt2860).

Overall Review: For those struggling with 54Mbps or 150Mbps issues: To get above 54Mbps you must enable the Draft-N AES encryption, and of course the router must support it, too. Without that, you are using G. And to get above 150Mbps, your router must support 40Mhz channel-bonding; and be aware that the cost of that extra speed is a reduction in range, so at a distance you may actually get better signal and throughput using 20Mhz.

Pros: Found the solution to what appears to be DOA cards that were discussed earlier in these reviews. This may also be worth a try if you have problems with slow rates. I just don't know.

Cons: The solution below SHOULD be included somewhere where people ordering this adapter could see it. Maybe in the "specs" section. I ordered and returned 2 of these adapters. When the first appeared to be DOA, I spent 2 days on Support Forum trying to find an answer and it was finally decided that this card was DOA & I returned it to Newegg for a replacement. Second adapter arrived & I had the exact same problem... Contacted Roswill Support & they talked me thru Win 7 installation with no success. They decided it as a defective card & I RMA'ed that one & ordered the ASUS PCE-N13 as a replacement. When the Asus arrived, I had same EXACT installation problem. Card appeared DOA. Everything in Win 7 indicated that the card was installed properly and should be working... Only thing was, no connection to router. At this point, I decided there must be something causing this problem & did some research on the internet. This is what I found that solved the problem.

Overall Review: Both the Asus PCE-N13 & the Rosewill RNX-N300X use the Ralink RT2860 chip. Ralink provides (very) up-to-date drivers on their web site (http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=1). Make sure to download the driver for your OS and PCI RT2860 rather than the one from Rosewill's site. The Utility that comes with the included CD or Rosewill's site WILL NOT work with 64 bit OS. The utility from Ralink will. Secondly, (and this is MOST importent): If you are running Windows 7 64 bit and have Norton, Kaspersky or ZoneAlarm firewall\anti-virus installed, you MUST uninstall the security package completely; not just disable it. Next, install the downloaded drivers/utility, then the card. Do necessary Internet connection procedures. When that is working properly, then and only then, reinstall your Security software and firewall. Gave 3 eggs because Newegg did everything possible to make me a happy customer. (including paying return shipping on both cards)

Pros: I got the adapter in 4 days (fast for the U.P.) pluged it in, installed driver and worked beautifully compared to what it replaced (a linksys wmp300n) much more stable connection.

Cons: the disk provided (in the box, not the combo deal, I got the mousepad/usb hub) was blank, probably a fluke; however, it is an easy fix as they provide the drivers online.

Overall Review: great buy

Pros: Quick easy install with Windows 7 64 bit. No problems, no drop outs and data rate is fast. It's only about 4 ft from the router so I can't comment on distance. Will get one of these for my other box running linux.

Pros: I am surprised to see a great quality PCI adapter for such a low price! I am using the generic Ralink driver that came with Win7 and so far everything working perfectly with my Linksys AP, no disconnects (frequent problem with my old Rosewill USB wireless N adapter) The connection seems to be stable at 270 Mbps which is all I really need.

Cons: The driver cd must be purchased separately. If your going to be using Win7 I wouldn't bother downloading the Rosewill driver or purchasing the driver disc since the generic Ralink driver work's extremely well.

Cons: This card has horrible drivers. It caused my computer to freeze like many others have stated. In the process of RMAing it right now.

Pros: Works right out of the box, at least in Windows 7, even 64 bit. Comes with driver CD, but it's better to download the drivers off the net. Supports most current technologies, and has a good range. No hiccups or issues with connectivity. Comes with low profile bracket, if you need it.

Cons: Not sure if it's true, but I noticed some minor speed issues with the default windows driver for the card. Could be a fluke, but not worth deducting an egg though, by any means. So no definite cons on my part, it may have just been some other issue.

Overall Review: I bought this card when it was on sale, for about $10 less, and it came with an omni-directional antenna extender as a promotion, which has become a necessity for me, as I may borrow my neighbor's connection from time to time. Overall it was the deal maker for me, although I would have gotten the card anyway, due to positive feedback and compatibility with Win 7 x64. Again, I have had NO issues with this card, yes, it's become a bit pricy on newegg now, but do you really want to take a chance with a lower priced card that may or may not perform well?
