Pros: - light handy, highly portable and sleek
- although face recognition is not essential for me but it turned out to be quite useful
- battery is so far okay. As I usually use it for meetings and I don't type non-stop, the battery can usually last longer than that estimated by windows
- Keyboard is comfortable to type on, reasonable distance between buttons.
Cons: - cannot be charged by USB-C, needa carry transformer around for prolonged use
- small "shift" key on the right hand side; del button next to the power button.
- the num pad is always accidentally switched on when typing (as my fingers rested over the touch pad)
Overall Review: although some reviews commented that the speakers of this model is weak, i found it okay for personal use in a not so noisy environment.
Cons: HDMI 1.4, display could be a little brighter
Overall Review: So far so good. Replaced my old MacBook Pro - did not want to go all out on price to get higher memory. Also refreshing to have Windows again. Very fast and really nice looking as well. It’s extremely light and the small bezel really makes this ultra portable. It feels lo much smaller than my 13” MacBook. At times I wish I bought a different screen size but I truly think this is a wonderful little machine
Pros: Doesn’t lag with Adobe Lightroom
Fans don’t often kick on
Fans are fairly quiet
Screen articulation helps to adjust to avoid glare
Keyboard feels solid
Bloatware is manageable
Build quality is nice
Cons: The screen is not quite bright enough for use in direct sunlight, no surprise there
Fingerprints do show up on the casing
Delete button is close the the power button and takes some adjusting to
Right shift is truncated which can be annoying
Closer to 3lbs
Overall Review: I don’t know enough about computers to say if this is better than anything else. It runs well and feels great. If you want a smaller, punchy laptop I think you’d be happy with this one.
The battery life is variable but I get about 5 hours off of a 60% battery charge, however the battery hasn’t been worn out yet.
It is obnoxious to find a laptop sleeve that properly fits its dimensions, you might have to accept some empty space if you use a sleeve.
Finally a true XPS13 competitor!12/5/2018 1:10:06 PM
Pros: I just got mine in hand today and the build quality is just rock solid. This new generation is legitimately nice to hold and it's just so incredibly thin and small without any flex. Unlike a lot of the machines in this class it managed to keep a couple USB3.0 ports, so you aren't forced to carry around a USB-C hub. Similarly, it still has a full sized HDMI port as well. Subjectively speaking, the screen is very nice as well, quite bright and the colors look great. Keyboard is good, not too mushy.
Biggest pro? PRICE. This is easily as nice (or more so) as the current gen XPS13, with more useful ports, but does it costing something like $300-400 less for a comparable configuration.
Cons: As for what not to like, most of it will be the same as all 13.3 sized devices. It's not the fastest CPU out there, no dedicated GPU for gaming. Neither of which I especially expect on a device this size. A larger SSD option without such a price hike would have been a nice option, but again, that's a similar pricing scheme to similar devices.
Also, a full SD card slot would have been preferred over a micro. If someone needs a dedicated SD card port at all, it's probably going to be to offload a full sized card for DSLR cameras. Not a deal breaker though, just going to switch to using micro cards with an adapter in the camera.
Overall Review: This is just an excellent all-rounder non-gaming machine with all the portability you could possibly ask for.
Pros: Great looking, sleek compact laptop. Essentially it performs well at all the functions of a laptop. Battery lasts long, and I’m overall very happy with the purchase
Cons: As others have mentioned the keyboard taking some “getting used to”. And the mousepad is pretty obscenely loud.
Overall Review: Another great laptop from ASUS. This is my 2nd and I’m happy with the decision to stick with them.
Pros: Easy to use and setup. Liked the mouse pad how with a press of a button it turns into keypad to enter calculations.
Cons: I paid extra to have a two day delivery, week later it finally arrived with the box open. Not happy about Newegg promise to deliver it on time.
Overall Review: I could recommend it, but don't pay extra to have it delivered early.
