Does this Sabrent USB-2920 USB to serial DB9 work with Windows 8?

I'm running XP SP3. Will I have to install a driver to use this? I currently have an adapter that is not allowing me to communicate completely with a motorcycle ECM. I've uninstalled/reinstalled/removed and reinstalled the driver but still no go. However the adapter works with another serial device (ignition system only, not engine management like an ECM). I don't want to run into the same problem I'm currently having if I purchase this.

I tried using windows XP SP3 not enough support for this adapter so I had to go over to windows 7 which has all the drivers for this particular adapter and I use this adapter to link with my 2003-2006 Ducati 749-999 ECM, it allowed me to link with my Ducati's ECM on windows 7 and adjust a host of parameters! Works excellent! If you are trying to find out you what adapters work with what you are trying to accomplish go to the manufacture's website and find out what serial adapters works with your unit! Mine has only a couple of adapters the manufactures website posted that will work with my VDSTS Standard (Vehicle Diagnostic scan tool). Hope this helps you out.
